roger all, thanks. Probably a job in tediosity, but might be better than removing the whole drive train. Press in clutch, drive in shim/putty knife/tapered tool, pry up, release. Move 60 degrees, rinse, repeat. Might work, I'll advise results.
Interesting. I don't know why it would be backwards, but could certainly do that. Thinking ahead, but removing the inspection cover won't tell me if it's forwards or backwards, right? It's been about 50 years, but seems like the clutch disk spline sticks further out on one side vs. the other...
Looks like I let my car sit too long, and now the clutch disk is **firmly** stuck to the flywheel. Just installed the new driveline and manually bumping the car with the clutch in and trans in 2nd gear isn't breaking it loose, maybe even to the point of turning the engine over instead of...
Dang it, I wish I still had one! I'm not really sure where my dash light panel came from, but I did own a 70 RT/SE (440-Auto), a 71 (318 - 2 bbl with a Ralley hood), and a 72 - 318 - 2 bbl that I drove for years in high school. I never took those cars apart, which is why the dash light part is...
I'm working on piecing my '68 GTX (non-ralley dash) together, and I bought my car in a million pieces 43 years ago, so I don't have a pattern to follow and I personally didn't take it apart.
I have two of these in my pile of parts, not sure what they are. Heck, they might even be *ord parts...
also, probably the reason the 1968 shop manual shows only the 3-speed wiring diagram for "hemi only", whereas the Belvedere-Satellite diagram shows both.
My GTX is June 4, 1968 build date, also St. Louis plant.
Thanks for the idea...the original switch panel was missing from the dash. I have two switch panels, both with 3-speed switches, but no guarantee either one is the original from the car. Would there be clues in the dash wiring harness? I have the original harness.
Trying to figure out which is the correct wiper motor for my 1968 GTX. Car is original hemi car RS23J, and I can't see anything on the fender tag showing a 3-speed wiper option. Car was a basket case when I hauled it home 43 years ago, and so I didn't have much to go on and nothing in the...
I'm piecing together my 68 GTX, 4-speed car, and need the 3-piece set of support rods that stiffen the pedal assembly to the dash frame. Basically 3 rods with flattened ends and holes to mount to the pedal assembly.
Does anyone know where I can find a set?
Is the 4-speed set unique, or is...
This is mine.
Just took this off my crate motor, never used, never even had a pressure plate bolted up, perfect condition. Located at my buddy's house in Port Orchard, WA.
