Need Help With Body Work / Rust Repair

Thanks for that description. Always impressed when I see progress photos of fully stripped down car built up from bare metal. Need Help With Body Work / Rust Repair

@1 Wild R/T Thanks for posting those photos. Looks like you used metal from a donor car right? Was that due to availability or preference? Curious how well repair panels metal fit. Your repair also looks like it might have been tricky to cut and fit given it included the transmission tunnel...

Need Help With Body Work / Rust Repair

@Rebelrouser very good points that even limited repairs can snowball. I’ve looked into the adhesive idea and while perfectly legit knowing myself If I start cutting and buying panels i’ll probably just buy a welder and try to weld it correctly and then i’m back to doing the work I really don’t...

@eldubb440: Thats great looking preparation snd nice work. Also thanks for posting those photos it’s very helpful to see the floor layout. Thanks that's encouraging, always good to get perspective. I'll have the car on a lift soon and will take some better photos. There is through-rust in the floor pans and in the quarter panels and wheel arches. I'd like to patch them in simply to keep the water out and put some miles on the car...

    Leak down question

It sounds like very a healthy result when comparing the numbers but I guess the very low reading is what your concerned with - Id wonder about the accuracy of my gauges on the tool and maybe a way to test the gauge itself?

    Vacuum Leak Tools

Correct, I ran the test with all valves closed (see edit) But pressure loss from valve overlap here and there must have minimal impact (since the tool keeps building pressure). When done with valves open it worked on my dual plane stock manifold. It built enough pressure to almost pop out the...

    Vacuum Leak Tools

Well this post was just intended to showcase the tools and alternative application of those silicone plugs to seal a 4 port manifold - not the full procedure involving sealing the intake valves by loosening the rocker shafts - i’ve edited for clarification. However, conversationally: any...

    NEW MOTOR MOUNTS

To continue the thread on my experience I will say the NAPA part fit well (photo below) and dimensions were similar to the original as far as I could tell. For anyone else looking the NAPA Part# is 602-1118.
