I would consider a oil change and run maybe a step up in thickness as this could be the bearings are loose . I would not run a high volume oil pump. After speaking with Bob K on my 440 years ago I was informed not to run one as you could empty the pan on the far side of the tach. Keep in mind...
Our '69 Charger is coming to the end of a two-year restoration. My wife and I are the original owners. North Carolina allows a "year of manufacture" plate to be used on the car if the car is actually registered as an antique vehicle, but apparently it is not required to use a plate actually...

Been there....done that.....
Nice looking RR,
Myself I think it is a ticking time bomb.
Since I'm only 1 state away I will take it off your hands to help you out.

What weight of oil is in it ?
Most all these 70s V8s are getting a little loose even after a standard ring and bearing rebuild.

Oh it wasn't all that fun when I could still do that kind of work lol but it felt good to look back after getting it done! At 73, I feel pretty much worn out....
All I can tell you is what I found done to my car. Previous owner had added a return line to a 383-4V car. They sent the return line into the tank where the shorter of the vent lines plugged in (the two coming off the driver side of the tank) and for some dumb reason smashed the nipple on the...
