Some of you know my wagon. Got a lot of great pics with various celebrities. My tail gate was is pretty bad shape, you could literally see the sunlight coming out along the bottom. I found a spare last year locally, stripped it down and gave it to my buddy to handle the metal/body work. After a...
So this happened today. A local junkyard is all done. The owner passed away and the family sold off most of the stuff. Me and my buddy went by and bought some stuff really cheap. As we wandered around the property we found 4 old station wagon roof racks. Pretty beat up but good for the most...
So this just happened. My wife and I were in my 65 Belvedere wagon. In the middle of a rotary it decided to huff and puff and stall out. I was able to get far enough over for cars to get by but it's no fun dodging traffic while diagnosing the problem. I checked the basics, I always carry...
I finally get my 65 Belvedere (creep) wagon back. A bunch of little things to do but I'm driving it finally. So the fuel gauge stopped working. I checked everything at the tank and then went under the dash. As I undid the plug at the cluster, one of the pins broke. Ugh!!! It must have been...
Aftermarket trans adaptor mount, the metal bracket that bolts to the trans apparently, with the weight of the trans, cut through the rubber and is resting on the bottom of the crossmember pocket. The rubber de-laminated from the metal bracket. It's creating a metal to metal contact with no...
More issues with my 65 Belvedere wagon swap. I dropped in the LA 360. Got the adaptor mounts and it looks good there. The later 727 adaptor mount isn't looking so good. It seems that it just falls through the crossmember mount and the trans and bolts sit metal to metal. I don't remember which...
Ok, here's something that just came to mind. I put a later 727 in my 65 Belvedere wagon. It has the 3 prong plug and the Belvedere has the single wire hook-up. Is there an adaptor or should I just ground the wire? I'm not worried about starting in gear if I ground out the switch.
Is the throttle cable the same for /6, small block and big block with 4 barrel? I'm assuming the end at the pedal is the same. Are the ends to the carb the same also? Would the three different blocks have three different lengths? Or even the larger C-bodies?
I dropped a 360 4 barrel in my 65 Belvedere wagon. The stock 273 2 barrel throttle cable is too short. Does anyone have a part number for the correct cable I should be using? Also I used the cable brackets from a 318 4 barrel and it doesn't line up very well. The Edelbrock carb seems too wide.
Like an idiot, I didn't take pics of how the power steering pump mounts. Can I get some good clear pics of 273 power steering pump mountings on the engine?
Thanks all.
I figured I would show this for anyone doing the same swap. I put a 1979 360 into my 65 Belvedere wagon. I used the Transdapt motor mounts to alter the motor positioning. The bolts they came with are too long. I had to use shorter bolts on the bosses. I also had to grind a bit off the rubber...
Happy new year everyone.
I am swapping a 79 360 into my 65 Belvedere wagon. I ordered the adaptor motor mounts but they are not labeled left or right and there are no instructions. One mount is wider than the other. Anyone have pics or a diagram? I'm getting the 360 back this week and plan on...
I'm looking to stiffen up the chassis on my 65 Belvedere wagon. Is there a big difference in the dimensions from 2 door to 4 door wagons? Just wondering how much mods would be needed.
It isn't a drag car. I plan on doing a lot of towing and hauling with it plus it's my nice weather daily driver.
Since I am swapping out the original 904 to a later 727 with an aftermarket shifter I won't be needing the original cable shift linkage. How difficult is it to remove the original stuff? I'm hoping to pull the trans this weekend and would just like a heads up beforehand.
Thanks.
I think it's time for a flush. Trans is getting a little sluggish. I know 65 is an odd year compared to 66 on up. I have the 273 2 barrel. Is it a 727 trans? Also does anyone know the trans filter for it? I'm at work right now so I can't look underneath the car. It seems the 65 stuff is tough to...
I don't know if this has been posted or is known but doing the floors on my 65 Belvedere wagon, I needed the floor support brackets. I couldn't find anything except the 66 on up B-body. They were pretty much the same except for the holes for mounting the bench seat. I just had to drill new...
My creep wagon is finally getting the front floors done. Unfortunately I don't have the rear pans that go under the rear seat.
My question is, Is there a big difference if I got the 66- up pans for that section? No one has the 65s in stock. I can still find the individual 65 pans for the foot...
I took out the heater/defroster buttons because they don't work. I am going to mess around under the dash. Anyone have diagrams and advise on how to get this vacuum hose mess working again?
Just got my new speedo cable from Joe Suchy. Next week I'll probably install it after I coat it with lithium grease. Anything I should know about installing it? Any hidden clip or some special thing I need to know first? Thanks all. The Creep Wagon is slowly coming back to life.
Well since we bought the 67 Fury wagon. That is pretty much going to be for the wife. I sold my 65 Coronet 4 door /6. I was also going to sell our 65 Belvedere wagon however.......... I've decided to keep it (haven't told the wife yet). I plan on going a little old school with it. Raise the...
