    To poly the leaf springs...

    okay, good feedback so far. thank you. This is for a mostly street driver, and I want passengers to enjoy the ride. I don't have great delusions it will ever handling like a European sports car. Yes, I want to drive it safely on mountain roads, but autocross is unlikely. I once went all...

    Television Shows

    When I learn of a series I may want to watch, I've waited until end-of-season, so I can stream and binge watch it. I'm getting too old for cliff hangers, and tuning in each week to see how the story plays out. I think I've even waited longer, to see how many seasons there will be. I got...

    To poly the leaf springs...

    I searched and couldn't find this topic. What's the recommendation on using polyurethane bushings at the rear leaf springs? In the front, I'm planning only to place poly on the UCA and (anti) swaw bar bushings. I'm learning these bushings are not ideal to use everywhere. I'm doing some rear...

    full & empty tank

    suction noise? hmm, could that be a poor/bad vented fuel cap? if it were me, I would leave the vapor vent lines at the tank in the rear in place. they do good things. when your engine misbehaves, if you vent that suction from the tank, does it run better for a while? another topic of recent...

    Any Brake Master Cylinder Not Made In China?

    With of our issues around unions, cost-of-living, demands for higher pay, entitlement culture, and other problems in staffing, have we lost our ability to compete... with ourselves? the poor guys in communist countries have a great deal of motivation (example, profit) to manufacture products we...

    Hood Pins : What Where When and Why?

    Years ago, I added an inside hood latch release to an e-body car, after the battery was stolen. sadly, an intruder decided to break the grill to gain access to the latch cable. it felt like a lesson to be learned. if they want to break in, they're going to, so save your grill and make it a...

    Any Brake Master Cylinder Not Made In China?

    Not all sellers know their shite. if they did, they'd be swindlers with their replies. The savvy buyer is the smarter buyer. That's been the case with ebay for nearly a decade or more. If they picture it, and it looks correct, they must deliver it, or suffer a refund. Take your shot...

    Any Brake Master Cylinder Not Made In China?

    Try epay for a vintage new one. EIS, Wagner, some good names out there. Even some of the Dorman look really accurate to OEM. They may be made in Mexico. Not all Dorman stuff is from China, thought little of it is USA-made. Study and search on the interchange part numbers.

    Beware Fake NOS Parts

    NOS parts often have a premium price tag. If you’re a seller of parts, being able to sell the part as NOS affords you a higher selling price. But just because someone claims a part is NOS, or the new-looking part comes with a vintage box/container, doesn’t make it an NOS part. Sadly, on more...

    Defrost setup ac ->non ac

    You got new hoses from the water pump to the heater core fittings (the outer pair, not the inner A/C ones) on the cowl firewall? I presume the fan still works to blow air? And the levers, when set to defrost, direct air flow through the vents in the top of the dash? AT (Austria) is famous...

    Defrost setup ac ->non ac

    What @1967coronet says is right, the heater part of the system should and can work just fine without the A/C element functioning. Are you talking about de-frosting the inside or outside of the glass? If it's inside, clean the windshield. You'd be surprised how well that fights mild to...

    8 3/4 brake support question

    Can you not move the 10 drums assemblies (backplates and all) over to the 8-3/4? That might be the simplest way to go, but I'm not sure if any 8-3/4 had 10-inch drums or if they even fit.

    Jimmy Carter won't be down

    Jimmy Carter was also responsible for deregulating the brewing industry, so smaller companies could make and market beer, ushering in the Craft Beer boom of the 1990s. When I sit and enjoy an 8% ABC highly bitter IPA, I feel very thankful for that skinny little man.

    Question - Re Coolant Flow

    Good question. The water pump, and it's ability to pump water, should not be impacted by plugging the heater core outlet. It will, as we hope, pump a greater quantity and/or volume through the other passages of the pump.

    Remember the Y2K scare?

    "The hype" may have helped stave it off. It's the crap we don't foresee, the stuff we cannot imagine, that kicks us in the butt. The Apollo 1 tragedy was more about unanticipated consequences than it was incompetence. Don't dis' the hype. It serves a purpose. :thumbsup:
