Looking for a set of factory small block valve covers, timing cover and fuel pump eccentric. Year and condition don't particularly matter, but needs to be 70-up with driver's side timing marks and twist-on oil cap.
Just need the few last pieces to assemble a Magnum engine going in my W200. Thanks!
The gaskets work great! I had a hard time getting mine to seal properly and the gaskets took care of the problem. Going on three years with them in service and no problems
I always thought people were nuts when they said their 727 had converter drainback. I never had an issue with the multitude of cars I used to own, but now my '71 Road Runner and '74 W200 both drain back within a day or two. Guess I finally stopped getting lucky with trans that didn't do it.
I switched over to SPI primers/clears and PPG Omni or Shop Line basecoats a few years ago. For my son's truck I'm currently doing, I'm trying out Tamco for everything. They're a local company and I know a few guys locally that have used them extensively. I sprayed the epoxy primer a few weeks...
I would definitely do a cooler. I used a trans cooler from a 2000's Ford Ranger. It's stacked plate design, has a nice mounting flange and was much cheaper than aftermarket. I mounted it to the support in front of the radiator to get good airflow.
Funny enough, I just added a bearing to mine. Mine is a '71 floor-shifted car and I installed the box without a lower bearing (or seal for that matter). About two weeks later, I installed a lower unit bearing, not because of anything steering related, but to keep the hot air from blowing up...
Mine had a tremendous amount of noise with one power steering pump, but significantly less with the one I'm running now. The pump shouldn't impact it, but it was definitely the case. The only thing I could think is maybe the "clocking" of the hard line entering the box makes a difference, as I...
My kids bought me an Everlast 200ES for Father's Day last year, and it has been great. I run 75/25 and have done everything from sheetmetal to welding in a new section of rear frame on my truck. It's a pretty impressive little unit. I've run .023 and .030 through it so far, haven't had a need...
The column to box angle seems to vary from car-to-car, presumably because of the inconsistent placement of the K-member bracket. I just installed that box, and my angle isn't as severe as yours, but others have a similar alignment.
As far as the shaft not being centered in the column tube, you...
Well, it can be. On my previous cars with automatics, I installed the line-lock on the rear lines and backward. That way I could engage the line lock, then use the brake pedal to modulate pressure to the front brakes.
Our local town is able to patrol a mile or so of interstate next to my house, and they show no mercy. Over the last year they've switched to black Durangos with black decals... the only difference are the decals are a matte finish. It's pretty ridiculous, but anyone in the area knows not to...
I removed the power steering column in my '71 Road Runner over the weekend to install a lower bearing. Over the collapsable part of the outer sleeve (the part that looks like expanded metal), there is a black plastic cover, basically a sleeve, that encompasses the entire thing. I've never seen...
Wasn't trying to derail his thread, and I'm not a fan of bashing vendors when they have overwhelmingly positive support.
It was BAC. Peter was fantastic in answering questions beforehand, sent out the replacement pump asap, and always responded quickly. Don't think he's a bad guy, and he...
Must be something with steering parts. I just ordered/installed a new steering box and pump from a well-regarded vendor. First pump developed a groan within the first two days. Sent out a replacement pump (ASAP, which was appreciated), but it arrived with the box destroyed and the fill...
Punch down tool... used to terminate communication cables in punch down boxes. It's the proper way to land wires in the junction boxes you see for telephones, networking, etc. Spring loaded, punches the wire down onto the IDC terminations.
