I was looking at the e-core could and am kicking myself i didn't purchase one before. I might try the MSD 82073 and see how it goes. Fingers crossed it runs better than ever.
I totally agree with that. I'm running NGK UR6with .039 gap.
The battery is new with a resting voltage of 12.6 and running voltage between 13.6 and 14.4V. I'm also running a Tuff Stuff 130amp 1 wire alternator. Everything was new in September 2023 last year excluding the coil which was April...
Thankfully I'm not the only one. I truely thought i was after doing something wrong. I literally just finished building this motor and it's been so hard to get the car running. It's all due to the coil. What did you use to replace yours?
I checked out the MSD compatible coil list. I also contacted summit as I only purchased the coil last April. Yet again another happy summit customer. They have already dispatched a replacement for me. I'm actually shocked at how quick and easy that was. I'll be using that as a backup coil as I'm...
I didn't believe i needed to install a balast resistor when installing the MSD 6AL along with the pro billet distributor. Maybe that is the cause of my issues
I've lost faith in MSD coils so I'm looking at Summit Racing SUM-850615 Summit Racing™ High-Output Ignition Coils | Summit Racing which is apparently ccompatible with the 6AL. Thought about the Blaster SS but read a few bad reviews. Anyone have any experience with the summit E-Core coil?
Hey everyone. I'm having major issues with coils. I'm running/was running the MSD Blaster High Vibration 8222 coil. I did about 600 miles on one coil and it bit the dust so I replaced it with another the very same and it only lasted 200 miles before it started to cause running issues and...
No need to apologise  I'm getting positive feedback regarding reusing the lifters on the matching lobes which is good but hearing from others about resurfacing them is making me want to buy new ones. I haven't pulled the lifters from the old motor yet. I'll get to that at the weekend...
Unfortunately that's not an option here in Ireland. Machines hops are very limited to the work they do. If you recommend defacing lifters that would mean buy a new set which if that's the recommendation I'll do it. It just works out around $400 for a set of lifters for me. A lot of money but if...
I won't be reusing pistong rings or bearings as the rings are broken in already on the last motor and this is a freshly block. They are super cheap aswell so they will be changed. The reason for reusing lifters is that they are already broken in to the cam and I think everyone knows how...
I've learned over the build of my 440 that new doesn't mean good and I'm not talking about rockauto new. I'm talking spending big money on coils, alternators, transmission parts and the occasional rockauto item. Sometimes the old parts are the best or just better than a lot of new items. I'm...
Dude that's what's so cool about the car. I love either super clean or ratty with a sweet clean motor.
I'm trying to insert a video of my own but I'm useless when it comes to computers. It's a 69 mod top satellite with a 67 440 motor bored .030 with flat top pistons, 452 heads, torker 2...
As the title says I'm swapping my full rotating assembly including cam from one 440 that developed a crack in a water jacket into a freshly bored block. I have my new motor on a stand and my old motor beside it and I'm transferring most stuff over excluding piston rings and bearings. My question...
Cheers dude. It's not a bad car and is very fun to drive. Can't wait to get the exterior in tip top shape with a new mod top and then it's onto the interior
