Good Day All,
In need of some guidance.
As the title says....been fighting with a 440 to get it right. It's a newly built engine in the last year or so. A little bit of porting, comp cam #21-223-4. Nothing too crazy. Stock Heads.
The engine ran good, not perfect...a stumble off the line...
As per the attached photo from an old service bulletin....does anyone know what suregrips got the tags vs ones that did not?
What is the clutch vs the cone type? Hence different fluids?
Late night nerd reading!

Hey All,
Got a bit of an issue. 68 440 with 727.
I have a metal knocking noise from bellhousing area when stationary, in all gears, but foot on brake. Reading the past posts I decided to remove the bellhousing cover. As you can see…I have a witness mark that of course looks like from the flex...
Hey All,
Does the C clips go on the u-joint where it is mounted to the Pinion Flange? Ie where the 2 clamps clamp to the ujoint?
if so is the C opening out-facing or in-facing?
thanks

Good Day,
Happened to discover the markings on my driveshaft on the tube. The part number 2852162 is self explanatory…as is the DCPC symbol.
What is the D8 and what looks to be a “BL” maybe??
Anyone have insight?
thanks
Good day,
replacing inner axle seals. I did take the measurements before removing. There was about 8mm difference between the sides.
Is the difference normal?
There were no previous leaks. And no obvious groves in the axle.
Should I install the new seals close to the old measurements or...
Struggling to find the Timken Part numbers for the Pinion bearing and race for the front and rear.
I have the parts from a vender...but just triple checking before disassembly.
Anyone help?
Thanks

Good Day All,
I am a learner…would rather try to learn something and get wrong 4 times before getting it right rather than just “get someone to do it”.
Besides the FSM that I have…any other good “How to Videos/step by step” or stickys for dismantling and changing the pinion bearings/setting...
Good Day all,
I had an issue 2 summers ago with the "chatter" in the rear diff during turns. Pretty loud. Both directions. Ordered the clutch plates and had them replaced. Voila all was fixed and great until recently and it is doing the same thing now....noise when turning both ways. Only...
Good Day All
Happy New Year!
Need a little help here with some numbers. See the photo.
I know the plant, the date, the sequence number...but...
The “S”...does that mean Special?
The “7052” that’s upside down...what does that mean?
Also there seems to be some type of symbol stamped above...
some help appreciated. From a 68 service block. It has the riveted blue tag.
I got the S, the 440 and the Water Test....
Can anyone help with the last digits?
Good Day All,
See photos.
These round tags are on engines that were supposedly “warranty” blocks. One has a blank “data stamp pad”...one has markings on the “data stamp” pad like any other engine.
What were the parameters of these round tags? Under what circumstances were they sent to...
I have the parts manual for the 68 models...but cant seem to find the page with the part numbers on it for the heater hoses. Been through it multiple times. Websites selling the parts seem to say that the part numbers are 1300523 and 2485961. Anyone confirm this is the correct part numbers...
Good Day All,
I have a dual snorkel on my 68 Charger RT. The drivers side snorkel is rubbing slightly on the hood underneath. Original 440 engine, original Carter carb.
Air cleaner looks level from the eye. Is there an easy way to adjust the angle of the snorkel to bring the drivers side...
Good Day all,
Looking for all you experts to peek around under the hood...let me know what you may see that would not be factory correct for a 68 Charger RT.
