MLS Cometic Vs Felpro 1009 with Aluminum Heads

Thanks for the replies and advice. I do plan to retorque the head bolts. Curious though. What is the difference and or reason why the marine head gasket may be better? Is this tried and proven? If there is a problem in the future I would like to know.

What was the coolest toy you had as a kid?

I had a bunch of the Renwal military models. I remember some tanks and an articulated missle carrier.

What was the coolest toy you had as a kid?

I would probably say the custom wood pushcart my dad built me. It was kinda of along the lines of a soap box derby full body car, but being there are effectively no hills in Florida, it was hand pushed. My dad owned a Phillips 66 back then and the Company colors were a skin tone beige and...

MLS Cometic Vs Felpro 1009 with Aluminum Heads

We ran them on aluminum heads 12.5 compression. No problems. Easy to blame a head gasket for being the failure. My experience is a gasket fails for a reason. Most of the time you will never get the full story.

    Need a bellhousing

This is an easy swap. Put the front bearing retainer in a lathe and turn it down to 4.80. First gear is 3.09 and second is 1.67. Some don't like the rpm drop from first to second. Vs 2.65 to 1.92 of say a 68 trans. My old V6 Dakota had an ax15 with 3.83 first and 2.33 second. Drove just fine...

68-69 and 70 Charger full wiring harnesses in the works from Painless Performance…

I have talked with the tech building the harness a decent bit. They had some universal mopar type harnesses before, but not a designated year model harness for the b bodies.

    Best carpet for 70 RR?

As stated above, all of the molded Mopar carpet kits are now coming from Auto Custom Carpets, ACC, out of Anniston, Alabama. Might want to consider ordering the carpet with the mass backing as it molded with a heavier rubber like backing that helps the carpet to maintain its shape while...
