Currently watching mad mad mad mad world. Great car movie, loaded with 50s/62s mopars. Not a single vehicle in the movie I'd throw off my driveway, including the metropolitan!
Unbelievable cast! Every comedian that was working in Hollywood, and lots of straight actors too.
I borrowed a GPS unit from a friend for a service call. Worked fine for what I needed.
For giggles, I turned it on a mile from my house on my way home. It directed me in the exact opposite direction, and then installed me in an unending loop around the block..... RT turn here, rt turn here, rt...
I had a red top optima in my Opel, and it lasted well. But the rumors that I heard about a decline in quality, and the huge price, discouraged the purchase of another.
Considering the abysmal battery location, I wanted another AGM from Sam's for it, but the size I needed was not available in a...
Good question. It might depend on which tubes/cylinders are paired in the collector. But, I suspect if it really worked..... wouldn't they all be that way?
And I may be wrong but the tube entry looks HUGE to me for a Cleveland. (4bbl clevelands had huge intake ports, but miserable exhausts. If...
I have seen the flat collector before..... but I don't remember where. (Nascar?)
They do look like gen2 hemi to me.
Edit, checked hemi bolt pattern. Not hemi. Looks like big block Chevy to me.
Did you google the Mopar part number on the ign box? (Prestolite 68 hemi transistorized ign module)
Your reasons to try it are perfectly valid. Give it a shot.
Edit. I also still have stud ends on my cables. They work fine with a stud and nut setup on a side mount battery too.
I've had some pretty poor results (longevity-wise) from deep cycle batteries. I would not discourage anybody from trying it. They might have better luck than me.
I had a chance to buy an old clausing lathe and Bridgeport cheap when the company I was working for closed/relocated. I didn't have the room at the time, nor the 440 they were wired for.
Now that I have room.... they are years gone.
I've got dragy on my phone .
I haven't used it yet, but I might start. My local dragstrip closed.
An old racing buddy of mine does use it, says he thinks it's pretty accurate. And his cars are FAST!
Do a short burnout on clean cement. Check out the marks. Heavy marks on the inside, too hard. Heavy marks on the outside, too low. Even across, you're good!
Short sidewalls are not designed to run at low pressure. I'd run 35 lbs MINIMUM, and probably 40. Maybe even 45 lbs.
That sounds about right, to me. My a12 stock ( 440, 727, 60) was 3700. You have some lightening done, some weight added.
If you missed, I'd bet on the low side. Maybe 3800 (iron or aluminum hemi heads?)
And I'd run a TIGHT 9" converter, and let the stall fall where it may.
