    Noisy speedometer cable

I wouldn't use WD40 on the cable, just the speedo mechanism. Once freed up, I put a few drips of oil in the small port and work that through.

feel gauge not reading gas at all

What did you do and replace when you restored your dash? Was it all original before it was restored? Did the fuel gauge work before it was restored?

feel gauge not reading gas at all

Hey there, There are times like these where a guy puts his car together and somehow didn't hear of all the problems that others have been dealing with for years. This is one of those times. I dealt with it in 2002, others here have seen it before that! It is an unfortunate fact that aftermarket...

In 1971/1972 did Richard Petty actually drive a Road Runner or was it a Satellite?

I would assume it was just a body in white with no vin designation.I think he always ran a flat hood but they called it a road runner to promote the sales of them.

feel gauge not reading gas at all

good afternoon All, I restored my entire dashboard on a 1967 Plymouth GTX. Everything works fine except for my fuel gauge. I put 5 gallons of gas in the tank so it should read a 1/4 tank. The side marker lights all work as do the front signal lights. The real tail lights and brake lights activate the same filament in the 1157 bulb. If I remove the light socket (metal) from the housing and place it on the mat in the trunk the bulb lights in the single filament, but it is not...

In 1971/1972 did Richard Petty actually drive a Road Runner or was it a Satellite?

Grill and possible the dash. Sat used a different grill and the dash could be std or ralley. But yes Richards cars were furnished by Chrysler with an off road use vin. But about anyone could buy a rolling chassis from Chrysler. That's just what was shipped to was something that could be rolled...

how critical is installed valve spring height?

I’ll add this to the discussion…….. I have a set of new stealth springs here taken off a set of heads that got a spring upgrade. I just checked one at 1.83……. 145lbs, and 325@.500 lift. Just pointing out that as the heads came back from the machine shop, they had spring loads very similar to...
