Janak's parts are high quality, and there are some parts I need to order from him for my "other" car (The Daytona fender scoops and headlight doors I got from his Dad were excellent and I need some more of each.)
But, if I were starting a new Superbird or Daytona replica project now, I'd spend...

Check out what happened to this guy and his Corvette after he bought it from a dealer with the wrong rivets on the VIN tag...
Good information, guys.
I'll agree that $15K+ would be awesome, but I'm thinking that price might be a bit ambitious.
The $6,400, $7,300 and $7,999 ones that I see advertised currently appear to me to be made from hand formed pieces...that's actually impressive, and looks like a lot of work...

Gean himself told me that the dies/tooling had been scrapped.

The nose cones shown above appear to be hand made.
Probably using an english wheel, shrinker/stretcher, planishing hammer, etc...
So, has any actual new tooling been made ?
Gean Gregory's nose cone parts were die stamped.
Gean scrapped all the dies/tooling he had for his nose cones a few...
I made one of these hand held ones, following the instructions in this video.
I haven't used it yet, but it was easy enough make, and it's cheap.
The only problem I've seen that is readily apparent is that if you're not careful, the little hammer head will launch across the room.
When the...
