I did basically the same thing, I have a 77 440 out of a motorhome. I used wiseco pistons std bore. Trickflow 240 heads 74cc. With a .039 headgasket. I ended up with a pump gas friendly 9.84:1. The wiesco have a 2.05 ch. Wiseco 5531AS

Its 5 clutch. I have 2 snap rings one will give me .086 the other will give .110. If I remember right the .110 would be about midway of the book spec.

I have .074 right now. Is that too tight? The next thinner ring would give me .086. The trans has the 3.8 kick down lever. Thanks

Yes, i have it apart. I looked at the bushing which doest look bad. I have a bushing set but there bronze. It doesnt leak so ill just polish it up and run it.
