I might be wrong but I thought you had to have the 4 speed to get the Dana unless it had a Hemi with an automatic. There will be numbers on the rear of the tubes usually the right side tube as I recall.
I bought a Flaming River column with tilt for a 63 Dodge I was building. The spline count & shaft diameter matched a Chevy steering wheel. I'm guessing because they are more popular, it's more than likely it's the same as a GM car. Best to do a spline count & measure shaft diameter to be sure.
I've read if you use a msd setup you should open the plug gap up to 0.40. Those using just the msd wires what is your plug gap?
I have the factory setup with a 0.35 gap
I rebuilt the motor in 1995. thats why the inside is painted. The car was an automatic, it was ruined in the fire. I do have the stamped ID pad from the engine compartment. I will dig it up. Where would I find the info on the Dana ?
Then he should already know about it, and not really sure why his neighbors wouldn't allow? A phone call is easy.
But it isn't my life so to each his own.
Really?
Strange when this claim is made, it's never if ever backed up by the claimant, they just throw it out there and then run away, like here. :lol:
Seems if the claim was indeed true it would be a piece of cake to back it up. Explain that conundrum. Do forget, you used the word "all".
Thanks for all the advise. I do have a vice. Man it is in hard. All my other cars in the past the rod just slid out easily. Now I hope the bolts can be pounded out from the old MC
2563430 -Casting number for 66-72 440 block.

Block cast 2-9(?)-70
S = 440 = service replacement
Appears to have been assembled 3 31 (1970) 2nd shift.
Please notice this pad is not stamped HP as the original assembly would have been...
After poking around on the web today for a rebuild gasket kit it looks like somewhat slim pickings. Classic Ind. used to have a gasket set and a shaft seal set but no longer available. Looking in the parts manual and what I've seen posted, this is what I see as rebuild parts. What would be...
When I started out as a young guy I new nothing. Never had much money either. I laugh at the dumb stuff I did in early years. Didn't really start to get a handle on it until I was nearly 30. Being a car mechanic as a living helped for sure. I read evrything I could find. Remeber no internet...
Found these sitting on the windowsill on a transmission mount box. Again, don't know why they made it in the house, but they need to go. Basic pair of V8 emblems used on various cars for multiple years. They are in nice shape with the standard paint loss on the edges and one has what feels like...
So I guessed correctly, service short block or engine built on March 31st on the 2nd shift. I suspect a short block as there is no HP on it, as the heads dictated that. If you have the paperwork on the car, when was it built?
