Greetings, always looking for decent Mopar parts source and seeing Parts Geek come up a lot in my searches. Anyone have feedback on rear brake drum kits from them? My brake cylinders and shoes are OK just want to replace all the other rusty items while doing a third-member swap. Thanks!

Below is the breakdown from the DoctorDiff referral Tom Hild of Lake Havasu City, AZ :
"Here is a quote for the complete third member we discussed.
Mopar 8.75 3.55 Sure Trac in a 489 case with 7290 yoke, including the following;
- New heavy duty nodular iron 489 case with forged caps and...
Greetings SteveSS:
So how does it feel and sound?
You must be surprised getting a reply more than 2 years later - you're the only mention of Tom Hild... It turns out that Tom Hild called me last night after Cass (DoctorDiff) referred him to me (he is out-of stock no lead time) and I e-mailed...
Velocity1985: Wouldn't every "plug & play" third member come with a thrust button in the middle? And if I buy an axle package with green bearings installed doesn't that eliminate the need to set the axle end play? Trying to keep this simple and I do not know what condition my existing axle...
DoctorDiff "Out-of-stock" 8 3/4" 489 Case Third Member – Seeking New 3:23 Sure Grip ASAP!
Oh no! Should have thought about this last Winter - I finally decide to pull the trigger ready to swap my tired (and scary loud) 3:91 with leaky axle and contacted the good Dr. (Cass via text) today and he...
Wow! It's on! This will be ~ 27 hrs. / 1,717 mile round trip (fastest route - longer avoiding highways) for road robert, and I thought Carlisle was a long drive! Wish I had a 5-speed but the logical choice is to stick with the 4-speed and swap my 3:91 3rd member to a 3:23 and do axles bearings &...
Greetings Mopar Gurus (& Geeks lol):
After nearly 5 years of living with and loving my 3:91 sure grip the time has come to rebuild/replace AND do rear axles seals and bearings (one side leaking for a while). There is a lot of drivetrain noises getting worse and gets scary > 55 mph these days…...
Greetings Hawk! Wow this a pleasant surprise, you got what it takes to plan and organize. Wondering if the driving will be highways or "avoid highways". With my 3:91s I'm not able to keep up on the speedways but I'm all in for the road courses! I'm definitely "in" if avoiding highways, I can do...
Bird 426: It's definitely gear oil that's seeping out, I have not taken it apart yet so I don't know what's in there - want to get the parts first as I can still drive it like that (fluid level in diff never seems to drop). Although it made a mess inside on the inside of the wheel - does not...
Hello Mopar Gurus:
My left axle seal is leaking, the brake cylinder was also leaking so I replaced it but realize that it is also the axle seal leaking as well. While I'm in there I want to replace the drum brake hardware (shoes are fine - like new but adjuster is frozen and other bits crusty)...
Hello Mopar Gurus:
For a few years now my speedo has a random issue whereby it suddenly starts howling and the needle jumps around. When I come to a complete stop then continue driving it can disappear then suddenly reappear. It went away for a long while now it is back. When it works it is...
Hawk Rod et al:
Are we still thinkinking about this as a Northeast Power Tour? I'm in let's do it even if it's just a small group that can - camping or hotels are fine with me... I'm in Holden, MA adjacent to Worcester and can travel down to a central location.
road robert
Hawk Rod et al, don't let this fizzle out - let's do it! I am in Worcester, MA and will drive anywhere in the Northeast to meetup and take time of as well if necessary. Camping sounds great to keep the comradery and the party going - who's in?!?
Hello Hawk et al:
Thanks as always for taking the lead for our groups on this amazing event! I would like to volunteer for anything needed - time or supplies just let me know... I'll be doing the "420" mile road trip from Holden, MA for the 3rd time in my old bird. Avoiding highways enjoying...
Hello Mopar Tribe:
Last year I flushed the cooling system in preparation for Carlisle road trip (420 miles each way) then the heater core started leaking. I bypassed it at the firewall and decided now that I would like to repair or replace it. I drive the car a lot and need to have a good...
Hello Mopar Tribe:
I am replacing a leaky rear wheel brake cylinder and will be attempting to bleed by myself and have some questions:
1. Do I need to have the car running in order for the vacuum to run the booster? When the engine is off the brakes barely work under normal conditions... BTW I...
3:91s are perfect for around town and backroads to 55/60 mph, BUT NOT HIGHWAYS! I have a 4 speed and at 70 mph taching at ~ 3900 RPMs. A 3:55 would be better for the street. I drive my car and wish I had a 5th gear, always avoid highways on cruises.
My '71 bird leans and it appears that the shackles are 2 different lengths! I started to shop around for a pair and wondering where the Mopar tribe recommends the best place(s) to get them?

Did the '71 road runner or other Mopars ever come with Firestones or only Good Year? I have been waiting for a new set of 4 Goodyear Polyglas F70-14 RWL Custom Wide Tread since Nov '22 and been driving on bald ones with an overdue inspection sticker. I found that Universal Vintage...
