I'm almost done rebuilding the full suspension on my 1974 Roadrunner but have hit a roadblock with the lower control arms. We pulled everything apart, had it all blasted and powder coated, re-assembled all components, but have not been able to find replacement bushings/sleeves for my lower...
Well, i want the torque that a big block brings, and I'm willing to live with the fact I need to get a dana 60. I'll also have to shorten the driveshaft. The only thing I don't have/ aren't ready for right now now is a 18 spline trans, but is that really that big of a issue with my wanted power?
They go just inside the top front windshield. The top inside window trim screws into them. There are 4 of them. They are made of hardened steel and have two pinch tabs that go onto a hole along the top inside front roof.
There is no no screw for attaching them to the body, just those tiny tabs...
I'm in the same boat and have taken the same steps in just getting it drivable. I try to limit real downtime and make my projects drivable ones. I didn't pull my harness off the car to check it since it I go with the least disturbance approach.
Good luck, I'm kind of local, maybe one day we can...
You are going to need lots more money besides the 10G's for the engine. Now you need a Dana 60 and a good clutch. Then the trans is going to break. Driveshaft?
You are better off with the small block.
Or do what I did at 16, bracket race a mostly stock car and make tons of laps with little...
Thanks for all the help guys. Luckily I was able to re-thread the damaged threads and still use the original parts. Otherwise all I could locate was someone wanting to sell some old, crusty upper control arm complete assemblies for $700.
THANK YOU EVERYONE!
I can't tell you how helpful this information is. Once I get some free time (hopefully this weekend) I will devote some time to seeing if I can trouble shoot this.
To the guys remarking on how messy the engine bay is: I know... I know... My goal was just to get it running...
Hoping i could get some help with decoding the fender tag and vin on my 1963 Plymouth Fury. Its not a sport fury, just a regular fury, 4 door sedan, it has power steering, a/c, and regular radio. It's red with a white top now but i believe it was white originally. Any help appreciated!
I remember dad buying a 56 Plymouth Belvedere late in the year (demonstrator) and after a few years of driving it in the NE (Massachusetts), it was having rust issues around the top of the front fenders over the headlights and along the rockers. By the time it was 7, it was in pretty bad shape...
