Our 69 Coronet convertible is a rolling shell. I have wheel dollies to move it around, but was looking at pinch weld dollies to make it a little easier to move. The rockers are solid, floors replaced. Looks like a good idea, just want to know if anyone has had any good/bad experiences with...
Wagons definitely weigh more than sedans or hardtops.

I can twirl my 4 door pats car around like it's on ice.
...butI have to put all I got into moving my wagon.
On the same dollies.
He felt that the car would flex when all the components were in it. His solution was to bring him the body on dollies, he paints engine compartment, bring car home, assemble and install running gear and bring it back. I don't recall when the underside was going to get painted. Probably first...
...hard sided plastic kid pool to catch most of the wash water. The pool was on top of some plywood and had a set of Harbor Freight moving flat dollies underneath the plywood. I brought a garden hose into the shop for rinsing. A 5 gallon bucket with deluded Simple Green was applied with an...
I mock the entire car and get more than half of the structural welding done before rotisserie; most times the suspension is already removed and car is on dollies.......... never an issue
After I removed the defective fuel pump from the hybrid, I did some vacuuming of the area. After that I pulled my dollies out that I have the disassembled 440 core on. Went through the pieces and pulled out what's needed for the machine shop plus saving for re-use. I removed the oil galley...
...the lower areas to 2500 and polished with Meguiar's 105 and 205. Put the Road Runners wheels on it since the 14" tires will work well on my dollies. Needs a serious power washing as it has been up in the air a year or more... Tomorrow is a neighborhood BBQ/party so Sunday it will see daylight...
...is around $900, forged/moly is around $1500. I've got time to weigh it out. I did see the package from Ohio is better than 440 Source. But I need to see what the trip to me will run between them. I'm also going to check with SCAT. They're 3 hours south of me. In the meantime, pieces are on...
...when I bought it. I'm not about to pay for someone's beach vacation as the companies were both in the valley on that 2k. I ended up doing it myself. A friend helped me get the pieces out of the trailer. We set the ramps on moving dollies. From there, it was me with a floor jack and grunt power.
Yeah, I went to Harbor Freight and got one of their furniture dollies and cut up a bunch of 2 X 4's
and 2 X 6's and used a floor jack under the trans mount.
Today was pull the rear end out and install the frame dollies. I little tight in the carport but it works. Next is the k frame . Learned make sure the car /jacks are high enough for the dollies. :BangHead: I was 8 inches short. Thor hung out .
I took the transmission off and set the engine in its cradle with two home made wheel dollies under it so I can roll it around and after I remove the rest of the accessories. roll it under the bench. You can see the red dirt on top of the transmission tailshaft.
...remove one wheel/tire for swinging room. I went to put the links on but there is misalignment on the bar holes compared to the arm brackets. I'll give the Moog link a shot to help with that. Still need to purge the steering, will do that here in a bit. Piled up the old pieces on one of my...
...car up on my tallest Jack stands and sliding the lift out from under the car sideways.
I put a couple of cheap small Harbor freight furniture dollies and a 2x4 or 4x4 under the center pivot point of the legs, lower the lift down on them, the feet and wheels of the lift will raise up high...
...the car and the running gear all in place. That makes it really difficult to paint the bottom and engine compartment. I mentioned that the dollies the car was on were bolted to stock suspension mounting points but he didn't want to risk it. Which is his call. I might paint the engine...
