That looks like an "AZ" state issued VIN.

Looks to me like the VIN tag was removed with the dash out of the car - and the rivets were carefully released from behind. When the dash was put back in the car the 'restorer' simply used some black silicone or urethane to glue it back in place. Another thought - can anyone prove this car is...

Make sure that you get the correct bowl, front/rear as you probably know are different than the center. Buy a new one, then you can play with your old one.

imo, the "powers that be" could find "issues" with half the restored cars out there if they choose to....... there are very few actual "survivors"

Nice, I've looking into those wet finishes. But I've been happy with KemChrome paint which didn't use any wet sprays.

It’s not complicated. They are both designed to do the same thing - suck oil without drawing in air. Just different designs. The factory unit can touch the pan, obviously the other cannot.
