No idea. Dealer told me engine supposedly was rebuilt a couple years ago. I have no idea what cam I should even go with, another reason I like to tear entire thing down and inspect it. See how much engine has been bored over if any, etc.
I tried pushing down on each lifter with push rod and couldn't move any of them. First picture is scotchbrited lifter, last two are from cylinder 6, where I believe ticking was coming from. I didn't see this yesterday, but once I wiped them off and looked in good light, at some point, they are...
Yep, if I have to change cam, I'll pull motor, I plan on changing color of car anyway, just was going to drive it for a summer first. Probably not now though. Need something to keep my retired self busy anyway. Hopefully I'll be able to tell after I pull intake.
Standard rockers, I actually ran it with the one valve cover off, lifter that was ticking on passenger side was the one of two lifters on that side that showed the wear. All of them had preload before disassembly. Driver side has about four lifters that look bad.
Thanks, I'll have to check pressure, all I have is factory dash gauge. Shows 20 psi at start up but goes up to 40 fairly quick. Possibly previous owner used wrong oil? I have Lucas 10w 30 for classic cars in it now. I planned on changing to 10w 40 after I change it to remove the marvel mystery oil.
I have a lifter that was ticking pretty bad on my 70 road runner that I purchased last summer. I tried marvel mystery oil and it helped a bit but still too noisy. I pulled all the lifters thru the head and about 6 of them appear like the attached photo. I'm going to replace them all, but is this...
Just did this on my 70, trim slips over teeth that headliner is stretched over. I used a heat gun to slightly warm up trim in a couple of areas to get it to form better in the corners. Tapped it on lightly with dead blow hammer. Bottom trim is stapled on hard board speaker cover.
They can be a little tough to put on. I started with the windshield part of the drip rail, as it was the easiest piece to put on. Hook piece on the top of drip rail and pound on using base of your hand. Never use a mallet as you may damage the molding. Next was the hardest piece for me, until I...
No where near, thinking about pulling motor in the spring, on occasion I can hear a slight knock. If I pull motor Ill probably change color of car. Lol
Is your super bee all back together?
Several months late, but I used SS tube fuel lines yesterday on my 70 Road Runner. I think they look cleaner than the long braided line previous owner used. I used the steel verses the stainless as I thought they may seal better. Lines fit nice, but I still needed to tweak them with tubing...
