Update: the trim was actually fine. Problem was with the door itself, it was modified with extra metal inside the door.

Are there pieces of the original axle spacer button(s) inside the splined area of the posi? The rivet often broke and pieces needed to be removed before axle install with green bearings. Inner axle seal removal also.
