How many California members here on FBBO? I'm looking to sell my primo set of '64 California plates, but don't know what sort of interest I'd find here on FBBO if I list them. Wondering if the classifieds here would be better than eBay.
I posted my Polara for sale here a couple times on the forum and didn't get any serious buyers. I think I asked $20k or so. I don't remember, but whatever it was; it was a steal. Since then I listed it on Bring a Trailer. If you haven't looked at this site, it's more geared toward exotics...
A reproduction Jiffy Jet windshield washer fluid bag is $199, and of course the cap is an additional $30. How can it be that a windshield washer fluid bag for a Ford Mustang is $20???
I've had this car for 23 years. I've had the back seat out multiple times and never had a problem. I took it out while I was painting the car last summer, and now all of a sudden; I can't get it back in. It's like the seat is too wide for the body! WTF? Does anyone have any tips for getting...
I'm looking for these trim clips. They retain the chrome trim to the top of the doors and rear window openings on a '64 Polara 500. I checked with Joe Suchy, and he hasn't seen such clips. Does anyone here have experience with replacing these?
I'm looking for input on cat whiskers for my '64 Dodge. Looking at the Detroit Muscle website, they list two options; flat bead on inside, and round bead on inside.
It's difficult to tell what type my car had since they are so deteriorated. What's the difference between flat and round?
I have a couple questions about the body of my car for the guys who have taken one of these things apart. I'm preparing to paint the car.
#1 The each door has two metal plugs in them. I'm just wondering if what I have is the correct plugs, or did someone replace them at some point. (see...
I'm removing trim in preparation to paint the car. I'm doing pretty well, but can't seem to get the section off that is over the door. Does anyone have any tips on how to remove this piece?
1964 Polara 500... I'm preparing for windshield replacement and paint. Before I get in to it, I would like to know if I can access the corner trim piece fasteners (or any of the other roof trim for that matter) from the inside without tearing into the headliner.
I'm working on my '64 Polara 500. The console has it's wiring harness, but it's not connected to the interior wiring harness of the car. The seats and carpet are in the car, so I can't easily see where it connects.
Does anyone happen to have a photo of where the console wiring connects to...
'64 Polara 500: Where do you all recommend I buy replacement defroster tubes. I'm talking the ones that go from the heater box to the defroster vents in the dash. I know pretty much anything can be fabricated, but I'd like a direct replacement if it's available.
My clock seems to have been hacked by a previous owner. How many volts does the clock run on? And... where does the power wire attach? (what's the stock way to connect power?)
Was there a factory option for a rear window defroster for early B cars? Anyone else have trouble with a foggy rear window? I drove my Polara to work today in heavy rain, and decided I need to remedy this foggy window situation. What are you guys doing for rear defoggers?
I'm replacing my fuel tank as many of you have. I got the thicker fuel sender retaining ring. I read the nightmares about the cheap thin one, so I'm good with that.
My question is about finishes of the tank and strap. I don't imagine the factory sent these cars out with any consistency...
I got these plates long before I got the car. Actually, I've had them long before I could even drive. What are the chances I end up with a Chrysler displacement???
I put a stock fan shroud on my car and had to reroute the power steering hose so it didn't hit the shroud. This is a '64 Polara 383 with the original '64 power steering pump. The pressure hose looks a little off to me, but there's really no other way to route it. I'd like to see some photos...
I have an OEM fan shroud for 62-65 b cars and would like to see some photos of how to attach it. If your shroud is OE or aftermarket, I'd like to see your setup. Thanks!
