I recently put the new Edelbrock AVS2 on my very mild 383. I'm having some issues with it, which I won't mention now, but I just wanted to start a thread for those who have these carbs. I'd like to document the issues you have/had and your resolutions to those issues.
I've got a Carter 4966 that I'd like to richen up by changing the metering rods.
Symptoms are a sputtering idle and cruise, but foot into the throttle seems to get enough fuel. I already have mixture screws backed out quite a bit and played with the timing... no vacuum leaks etc.

On my 383 Polara, I run a vintage Edelbrock DP4B intake with a vintage Carter AVS 4966. I could really use a choke for cold starts, but the intake has no place to mount a thermostatic choke. I wonder what others have done, short of a newer carb with an electric choke.
