I am posting to thread because no where in the world could I find exactly what I was looking for.
If anyone was ever thinking of doing the same, I hope this helps!
I am working my 71 RR.
I wanted to have the DRL turn off, and Amber on with Parking, Flash with turn or Hazards, turn back to DRL...
Did you try replacing the sealed beams with anything made after 1990? The '79 F250 I grew up with had two square lights and would make the stop sign reflect red from a mile and a half away. Not like you could see or anything else was lit up out that far, but that always amazed me how far those...
Which is my shop burning to the ground.
My plan today was to scrape undercoating off my Charger that's on the lift. The high bay lights are on a separate circuit then the main area with 12 T8 fixtures with LED bulbs designed for them. Well today when I flipped the lights on I heard a crackling...
Copy I'll test socket.
Curious why the ones you linked are better? Comparing to what I have they look the same and don't even really show what the base pins look like.
What I bought.
1157 LED Bulb with Stock Cover - Dual Function 36 SMD LED Tower - BAY15D Bulb
It doesn't matter the light source.
The problem is the OPTICS.
Optics are the focusing apparatus - lens, reflector, and the geometry from the source, to the apparatus, and from there to the environment.
It doesn't matter what your source is, if it is focused wrong, it will either blind...
Truck will be leaving soon to get a Hodges ramp body installed, so this will be available.
Twin tool boxes, cab guard, ledlights, wood decking with lots of tie downs, it has a gooseneck ball mount that goes with it but, it attaches separately to the vehicle frame.
If interested I can get...
car is currently at shop, so i cant look for myself, how many led bulbs do i need to order ?
I know some are push pin style and some are regular.
does anyone know how many of each ?
Prayers for the everyone involved in that accident.
My wife and I own a 68 GTX. One thing I noticed about it was how small the area that lights up on the tail/brake lights. One day while driving I turned the left turn signal on slowed and stopped to make the turn. A guy behind me went by and...
Remember, many new cars have "automatic" dimming headlights. They sense a light source coming towards them and auto dim.
yeah, no they don't. Especially if you are not driving equally blinding bat-signal powered lights.
I fault the driver still, but they are relying on the car to do the work...
I put up some ledlights in my new shop. Love leds. They are wired to a regular wall switch but I put the pull strings on so I can turn any off, as needed... Funny, the guy that owned this place for the past 38 years never had more than the one 60w light that you can see in that last shop pic.
Had a chance to get more work done on the tail lights. Replaced the sockets (superglued in so if I need to replace later, I can). Everything protected with shrink tube, and then wrapped with TESA tape (the cloth stuff, similar looking to OEM). All bulbs are now LED. I got to use my power...
Driving at nite is not real high on my like list, especially at nite and in the rain
Any idea where I can get these to fit my 66 Satellite ?
is this the correct size ?
I'm in my '01 Ram a lot at night, coming home from gigs (live audio production; lots of bar gigs, lots of getting home at 3am). ALL my vehicles have upgraded lighting, Ram included. I changed to Sport package lights (4 lights instead of 2), and run HID low beams with LED high beams (instant-on)...
Classic dash actually makes the part, but Autometer sells it with their gauges. I was worried as well after reading the reviews, but it's much better than I was expecting. It's got a softer vinyl coating. I was expecting hard plastic. The edge also has some trim on it to clean up the edges...
...The Sylvanias look like they might be that way, the 2nd one posted looks like it would do better.
You won't know until you try them.
For those not wanting LEDlights, here's a posting I did on some slightly-brighter incandescents to replace 1157s.
'guaranteed' upgrade for rear 1157 light bulbs
...the dash years ago but never got around to the headlight upgrade. I’m going to be running LED headlights. Maybe a stupid question but is there really a need to do the upgrade now with running LEDlights or should I go ahead and do it, especially with all of the extra electronics that I’m running?
The bulb socket should be your ground- that’s how my 65 is. If you have a short, I would think the fuse would blow no matter if you had incandescent or ‘digit’ light.
Are the new tail lights just replacement LED bulbs in the original sockets or did you replace the entire tail light housing?
I...
