The Southern guy that makes the videos for Powell had one video discussing the chamfer at the outer edge of the lifters and how some are beveled a LOT more than others. Interesting stuff...

I would not use the lifters in post #102. The chamfer on the base is huge & with a cam that is designed to use the full lifter diam, the lifter could dig into the lobe. The machined flat. I have been doing that for 30 yrs using a Dremel with a cut off wheel, no need to pay 'extra'.

If I were taking a trip across country like Hawkrod did. I would have a jack, spare, and tools. Just cruising around and going to local cruise nights. No jack, spare, or tools.
Hagerty includes roll back road side service. But might be limited to # miles.
Again, not to suggest you don't know this, but having an ignition system that allows about 20° total advance at idle, even moreso if you have a HP cam of the caliber of the 292°/.509 or hotter, and then a limiter to prevent over advance under load at part throttle, and all in REALLY makes for a...
