Cranking torsion bars don't effect the ride quality, at least anything noticeable while driving. The thickness of the torsion bars is what changes the stiffness, hence why aftermarket bars are larger diameter than stock. The only way the bar can twist more or less is by more or less weight...

Which style do you want to buy? The date code of 326 8 tells us that it was made the 326th day of 1968 for the 1969 model year. That style should have the 2 mounting tabs with bolt which is an improved design over the single mounting tab with stud.
