...in the late 70s, I replaced the trunk mat with newspaper, and changed it any time the car was exposed to water. I also blew the windowchannel out with a hair dryer. My friend Bob, who sold me Baby Blue a few years later, did the same. He went further, and managed to seal off the factory...
...asking price or anywhere near it but from what I see, I don't consider this a parts car any more than the '70 I bought in 2019...I had to replace the trunk floor, rear windowchannel and the entire front structure due to crash damage. These cars have to be pretty bad to be stripped and cut apart.
After a bit of a summer hiatus I am back at the passenger side quarter panel. It's going to need the same massaging at the door gap and also the windowchannel but nothing a few minutes with hammer and dolly won't fix.
The only 2 times I've had a window completely stuck, was due to the forward edge seal bunched up in the channel. The whole assy. has to come out for that.
The last big sheetmetal pieces were installed this last weekend. The B pillar lower window skin corners and underlying stacked brackets. The intermediate speaker package tray to Dutchman panel channel and the Dutchman panel. All AMD parts and all needed some massaging and tweaking to fit...
I finally got them installed. The trick was to remove the regulator then install the regulator to slider to window all together then feed all in while feeding the pivot bracket into its channel before dumping the whole assy to the bottom. Earlier while trying to do it without removing the...
...I spent the last 4 weeks stripping it down and sent to body shop last week. CA car so very little rust - couple of pinholes in rear windowchannel with some minor pitting of trunk floor, but rest is solid. RF fender was crunched (took it to a body shop class and straightened pretty well)...
I bought a pair from Authentic Restoration and the channel on the seal is too large and does not stay in place on my verticle trim. The piece is clearly not the same as the original. I bought a pair from Detroit Muscle and they are 4 inches longer than my originals. The channel looks close but...
Been plugging away, welded in patch panels lower front and rear quarters, back windowchannel and some misc small floor patches. Made a huge mess on the shop sanding off all the old paint and bondo revealing all the work I need to do now. She was dinged up pretty bad, fenders especially I dont...
I’ll keep that in mind. I think another issue is that the vent window assemblies are new reproduction. I’m sure they are not the same width as the originals. That’s the problem with all the junk reproduction parts. Nothing fits like the originals.
The way you did yours is definitely the way to go.
...the fit but I decided to just start welding and fit as I go. Trunk and door gaps are good, C-pillar is decent, problem areas are lower windowchannel and fit of end cap but I'll get them worked in. Once the drivers side is tacked all around I have one more fitting of the passenger and a...
...It's reinforced with a piece of 3/8" steel tube welded from the handle mount to the vent channel. The lower bracket for the rear windowchannel was cut off. Then rotade 90 degrees and rewelded to the bottom of the door. All side and rear back light windows except the vents are 1/8" Lexan...
Good morning FBBO I have a question about that window seal that’s fits on the bottom channel (see Pictures )of the vent where do you buy it or is that something you have to make
Thanks Tom
Tryed fitting without the shoes. After sanding mine down it was still tight. I put in the original shoes still too tight. Then I didn’t use any shoes still too tight! This tells me the material isn’t right. These have whiskers and if its too tight AND then we use lube then when dirt gets in...
This is a helpful thread here guys. Rather than starting another would like to build off this one. I am going to be doing this hopefully soon when I get my glass. I do have some questions.
Dick did you ever redo this window? If so how did it go?
1. What type of sealant/bedding compound do you...
Does anyone have a tinted passenger window for a 1968-70 b body hardtop?
Also looking for the chrome vertical channel that rides in the door with the window. Need for both.
Thank you!

Has anyone used these reproduction run channel pieces and with results?

A few variables here. Rear track is not at the proper angle to match the vent frame. Foot is broken off the bottom of the vent frame windowchannel, but most likely it's the 32330 slider mylar torn and bunched up or the H pins broken that are jamming the door glass in the vent frame channel.
Hi,
Installing the rubber felt pieces (AS2001) into the window rear run channel on my '69 Charger, but it did not include rivets... can I use pop-rivets ? Was not sure if the window glass metal channel would interfere if I used them... thanks...
