Thanks for the picture. That looks like what I normally call a post car. That was how my 64 was setup where the window was captured in the door from top to bottom. I think in 63 the Savoy's where this way but on the HT cars (like the one I"m referring to) the window recesses into a separate...
Hello 1969VAG,
Did you resolve your window issues? If so, how? I'm having similar problems except the window sags the other way (end toward rear won't stay up/level). Thanks.
Hey all,
My 67 coronet driver side window is currently detached from the front windowchannel atm. I have bought the right channel guide and time has come to put it in. My question to you is: Do I have to remove the window together with the mechanism for the door in order to put in this guide...
One of the reasons why when I was looking for a vintage wagon I decided to go outside my Mopar box...Window felts, window gaskets, tailgate weatherstrips... All either not available or $$$$... Plus the fact every beat up old 63-65 Dodge or Plymouth wagon I looked at had rust, was wrecked or if...
So the other day rolled down my window and then tried to roll it up again. The window would not go up. Got to the house and finely got it to go up and noticed a wad of some thing in the channel. Pulled it out and it was a piece of the channel felt. So now have to take the window out and install...
You paid one sixth what he's asking, my impression is this car has the tin worms working overtime... The way to know is to take a look but at that price it's not worth looking.. The roof & rear window are typical as is the lower quarters... That drivers door is boiling under the paint and the...
Since I got no responses, I went ahead with the assembly. I found, in my car that the channel needed to be placed in the outboard position to get the glass to engage properly with the weatherstrip. At the same time the glass up and down stops need to be set, the glass runs also need to be...
If your motor and regulator has some age, channel guides are new, new felts / wiskers then that motor will be a little slower going up.
Engine running / alternator charging will help.
Keep every joint and roller in the regulator lubed.
You can allways try one more turn you will know real quick...
Quick update... the purple power stuff from Walmart was like $6 for like 2.5 gallons.. or something super cheap like that.. i tossed the regulators in a tub full of it for like 10 days (got lazy) and they came out looking like new. metal i even nice and bright again.. :)
Got my rear channels...
Channel felts got through Parts Mix. Went through several sets. Frustrated with the windows did not want to roll up and down without tearing the felts. Tried several types of lube products. One destroyed them. Red moly grease too sticky. Then remember when I was in a shop working on cars the...
From my own experience....it pays to be certain you know exactly where the water is coming from .....it could be through the tail-light fittings, the rear window lower channel, side clips where a vinyl roof moulding clip goes.....it's not always the trunk seal.
The drivers side door glass sags down leaving the gap shown in the picture when I close the door. The vertical chrome trim won’t seal against the quarter window. The window frame in the door is clearly sagging because I can pull up on the rear of the frame even after rolling the window all the...
...all the weatherstrips on my '63 & '64 Savoy wagons - not only did they have stuff nobody else had, they knew the measurements for the windowchannel felts, and their prices were very fair. Great resource also for fasteners, clips & etc.
I got the cardboard headliners from Kramer's, and they...
This looks to be the correct windowchannel with the curve and felt. I'm not sure if they are in stock at this place or not. Any other suggestions to get these pieces? Thanks
True to that is that the 1/8 is lighter, but flimsy in that it needs a little hand persuasion and guidance to seat in the upper door channels when bringing them up to the closed position. Once they're in there, they're in there. They do give away their cover when the car is on though, because...
