I bought oil every time it was on sale, and just stuck it in my mess of a garage. Then one day I put it all in one place, and realized I had a couple hundred quarts (not completely a bad thing, two diesels and one racecar change each will take 37 quarts)
What annoys me is the cost of filters. I...
What is my driveline worth?

A heat barrier with an air gap is the best solution for protecting select items ... oil pan, starter motor to name two. Look at what they use under any late model car between the exhaust and floor pan. Go to a wrecker and find a low milage wreck and snag one of the shields and make what you need...
Has anyone used Driven conventional gear oil 04530 in their 4 speed ( A833 ) tranny, or Redline MT90, had my tranny rebuilt and just wondering what is the best oil.
Thanks
Could someone post a picture of the engine oil dipstick tube installed on a 440V8 on a 68 or 69 Charger. I started with a bare block I bought from a person so have never actually seen how the dipstick installs. From what I've read, 69 and down had the dipstick assembly running outside of the...
You say pump is not stock. Pump is a stock BB Hemi pump. Pump cover and sandwich are part of Milodon dual oil line system. I have all of that including the oil pan, but wanted to make sure I don´t miss something regarding the pump it self. And where I live here in Sweden I´m not so sure there...
Greetings,
What is the correct position to install this oil seal? Does the notch in the metal go in at "12 O Clock" and the hole in the rubber boot goes in at "6 O Clock"?
:thankyou:
Today I stumbled upon a small stash of UNused oil in bottles that had no date code on them but did have the SAE API circle with ratings of SD and SF.
I thought that I was told that the higher in the alphabet the second letter was, the higher the detergent level.
In short, an oil like this...
This is a Used Oil Pressure Gauge Sending Unit. It is for
a oil pressure gauge, not a idiot light. I can no longer
remember what year or model this one came out of, but I'm
sure it worked or I wouldn't have saved it. $15.00. Local
pickup, or buyer pays shipping.
In a every day street/strip type car a pan without a dipstick would not be preferred. For an all out race engine it will be fine as long as you don't have any leaks. I don't have one in my Hemi street/strip car. However, I am also running a vacuum pump.
If you had no air bubbles what makes you believe you had air up top? You mentioned having the cam blocking air to the top.... The oil pump is what's referred to as a "positive displacement pump" which means if it's turning it will displace oil... But if it's not turning it acts as a blockage...
I did regular oil changes with synthetic oil but it ate multiple cams lobes and there was alot of grit in my engine. Granted, many of my miles were pulling a trailer. With what all need replaced, it was only about $2,300 more for the reman long block vs going through my topend. That included the...
You might post a wanted to buy ad and see what someone has. Check the junk yards. What you need is very common. Also it looks like a lot of oil all over the place. Might be huffing out the dipstick tube. Thats no good.
I'll cut to the chase.
500 low deck stroker. Broken in on the Dyno plus ~10 power pulls after that. All systems go. Timing set perfectly.
That was last June. The engine has been sitting since then with monthly manual roll overs.
We will fire it for the first time in the car this weekend. Should...
