‘66 console satellite - driver side accelerator pedal clearance?

Not sure it makes a difference but is yours an auto or manual? Your console trim is finished differently than mine. The fiberglass panel on mine goes all the way from the floor to underneath the top console trim. You have that extension of the console colored trim above where the carpet starts...

    New Mufflers for a mid 60s B-Body

Nitro Rat, thanks for your comments. The XLERATORs we used and tested have welded cases, like the ones I built. This is one of the very early ones, a 14" case. These are relatively loud and that is due to the short case and the perf pattern they used. The big ones, like you mentioned, used a...

Driveshaft Length 1971 Four Speed Satellite

Don't get me wrong, my car is a stripped down hot rod. That being said, I barely ever even chirp a tire. I've got a big block A body to race with. The Satellite is just a cool driver. I appreciate you giving my thread the time of day to make an actual reply.

    Water Softener Tip

I see. Well, sounds like a neat setup. I would consider it just for the fact of not having to lug 40# bags of salt around. Just a couple of months ago I hurt my back doing just that. Unfortunately I don’t think i would have enough room in my pump house for installation. Also I read that the...

A chemical stripper (your brand of choice), I have no real recommendations on brands & then neutralize what ever it is that you used, before you go forward & then, do like a 000 Steelwood buff, maybe clear it after, so it doesn't tarnish or rust I don't know if that is stainless or not

Or, the brake pedal surface could be trimmed. Who needs that big of brake pedal anyway. Stopping in a hemi is over rated.

    Ideas to remove paint

Bought a car with a very poor paint job. Since it will be impossible to color match, I want to remove the red paint, and retain the metal finish on the gas cap. What process is recommended to minimize damage? Thanks!
