Rapid fire pops out the carb, new cam time?

I think it is weak ign. Try reducing plug gaps to 0.010" & see if you get a little more rpm before the misfiring starts.

When assembling a big block, how crucial is THIS ?

No contact....unless the plug is pressed in too far. Would have to see a 440 block to see if that is possible, some engines it is IMpossible.

    Stroker engine build ideas

Use the RPM intake. The Performer will limit power with 500+ cubes. The RPM has the dual bolt pattern for carbs so that the TQ [ the best ] will bolt on. You may find, good chance, that the t/bore openings can be opened up to run the TQ. It should seal ok, if not run a spacer/adapter. With more...

Post up facts and things that hardly anyone knows...... (for entertainment purposes only. NO need to fact check)

The man who invented the game Operation never received any royalties for it. He was unable to afford his own surgery until his friends and fans raised money for him online. In 1935 when Roosevelt increased the top tax rate to 79% for those making over 5 million bucks, it only applied to one...

69 bench seat car lap belt count?

The 69 B body is considered a 5 passenger car, no? The rear bench has lap belts for 3 passengers, and the storage clips for 3 lap belt latches. Is there supposed to be 3 lap belts on the front bench seat as well? If not, why are there storage clips for 3 lap belt latches on the front bench seat?

When assembling a big block, how crucial is THIS ?

Is safe to assume that the camshaft does not make contact with the plug ever? I could do a mock up tomorrow with stuff that I have out in the shop but this is something that I've never heard anyone discuss. My concern is related to the upcoming cam swap due to it being a roller design.

When assembling a big block, how crucial is THIS ?

The oil pump drive/load is pushing the cam back. The lobe/lifter orientation is to push forward & counteract that force. Cam plug. Not so far in that it contacts the cam. Use silicon to seal it. It is only subject to a small amount of blowby force.

When assembling a big block, how crucial is THIS ?

Cam plug depth. Yeah, not a real exciting topic but I'm curious. Here is the depth I had in my 440/493, as noted when I pulled it in 2022 to rebuild. You can see, the edge of the plug is near the edge of the hole in the block. When I knocked in the new plug after getting the engine back...
