Carter & Edel 4bbl carbs will take up to 10 psi of fuel pressure; but you need to re-adjust float level. The Edel/5.5 psi 'thing' is because fuel pressure controls the fuel level in the bowls & the 'datum' jetting [ not rich, not lean ] is set with 5.5 psi & 7/16" float level.
