I’m assuming the intake valves should NOT look like this, with gunk built up on them. Looks like I have oil leaking in there, and probably confirmed by the wet blackish film in intake runner.
Ok, I made a template from a donor firewall and used common reference points. I made the template from poster board and cut reliefs slits to form the compound curves by the transmission hump. It took many adjustments and tweaking to get it right. My vinyl template idea was not good, too...
