I have a 71 roadrunner with a 340 that's lightly modded but by the previous owner, so I'm unsure of what pistons so I don't know compression ratio but it's .030 over, speedmaster...

Alright, I tried looking in the forums for more info and apologize if a thread already exists on this, but have been stumped. The 340 in my car has 60+lbs of oil pressure on cold start and maintains about 35-50lbs on the highway, but low rpm and idle after warm it drops below 20lbs. No knocks or...

Hey all, Rich here. Got the Mopar bug 13 years ago and sold all the chebbies.
Now have 1969 Coronet, 1969 Barracuda (will be sons 1st car), 1972 Demon H Code 340 and 1973 Cuda 340 (Purchased from original owner and started this whole dilemma).
A friend of mine swapped an aluminium case O.D. transmission into his 1970 Challenger T/A 340 SixPack, for long drives to Mopar Nats, Chryslers at Carlisle, etc., from Ontario. However, for daily driving, he did not like the super-wide gear ratios behind the 340, and he eventually changed it...
...But I'm not new to Road Runners. So here is my dilemma. The VIN is RM21G4G the fender tag also qualifies that. The motor however clearly reads 340. To be more precise, it reads MH 340R the following numbers I believe are 38480155 get a little hard to read (see photos). I have had this vehicle...

73 340 were 1.88 Intake.
73 318 were 1.78 Intake.
On a relative stock 340 head, I could not
find any difference on a flow bench or at the
track between the 1.88 and 2.02. On a modified
head properly ported = yes there was a difference but
not really as much as I would have expected.
We race a...
