On the cooling issue, with the automatic trans, run the hot trans fluid output through an external trans cooler before running it through the lower radiator core. don't make the lower radiator do all of / or the majority of cooling the trans fluid as it will make the engine pump inlet pull...
Up for sale is a std 71 HP 383 block with main caps. Selling the project and don't need it anymore. This block has not been inspected. It will have it done but not at this price. Block is in IL shipping on your dime. Please ask any questions you might have before purchasing. 750 obo
The machine work to fit billet main caps is really expensive, and I think over kill at 600 HP. Check what your machine shop charges to fit the main caps to the block.
Do use main studs. With the studs, the mains might need align honed, but that us way less expensive than align boring...
