Drill and solder a sensor in the pan.
You'll get a true reading of fluid temp,
plus easy installation and
maintenance. Done this on neumorous
vehicles. While you're there, install a
drain plug to help with fluid and filter
changes.
They will clear the drums with that backspacing or even
5 back spacing on the rear given stock width 70. I would
be more concerned about rubbing on the 1/4 with that backspacing
and a wide tire with 4 1/4 BS on a 10 inch rim.
I just ordered decals from Jim Heller/Teresa Wulf on E-bay for the Lee Smith car. They should be here this week. I think this car was one of the best looking from the era. Nice picture of it in Jim Schild's book.
I am restoring a 69 coronet. I bought the car in pieces and this was in the pile of parts, I have two 69 survivor cars both 4speeds that do not have this shield and shows no sign of having them. I have an all original 1970 super bee auto that has this shield. Is this auto only or 70 only??

I'm easily convinced, front of the Moroso pan it will go then.
I have read that outgoing cooling lines aren't the best either, because little fluid runs through
them. Where the pan has most of the fluid being recycled through the trans over and over.
I just dislike the fact that these...
Why not sense the temp of the oil the factory designed as needing cooling in the first place?
The line leading to the OEM trans cooler?
It's all relative anyway.
