I would like to install a scattershield as part of my clutch and flywheel upgrade.
The car is a 73 Charger (original 318 auto) now 413 Engine, 23 spline 833 out of a 68 383 Charger.
It now has the factory 68 bellhousing, aftermarket 10.5" clutch and 130 tooth flywheel.

What is the physical process of piston rings seating in?
There really isn’t anywhere for them to go.
So what is the difference between rings that are seated and those that aren’t?

I just rebuilt my 413 last winter/spring.
I was feeling pretty good about things since it was running well, (not as fast as I would like) and seemed to be sealed up good. The only leak I was aware of was slight dripping from the oil pan drain plug...
I bought a whole cam kit from Lunati, hydraulic flat tappet.
I inspected the lifters this morning
15 good ones,
1 mics .9025, the factory spec is .9035-.9040.
It also has a diagonal gouge from the grinding wheel.
I'm not sure if I should use this.
Also some of the rattle when you shake them...
Is it possible to have a bad bearing, and also good oil pressure?
