Those could be made to look almost new with: fine grit wet sanding, Wenol/Semichrome polish, toothpaste.... or some combination of those methods.

I have Edelbrock 60929 Performer RPM heads on a 440. Does anyone know if the header bolts go through into the water jacket like they do on stock heads? Also wondering if the alternator pivot bolt goes into the water jacket.

Sure, why not? I'm at 9.8 to 1 with aluminum heads. I could probably run mid grade in the engine now. The '528 cam I used to have was milder than this roller and I was at 10.12 to 1 with zero quench and didn't knock with that setup.
