    SOLD 1967-72 Pentastars Gold New

I should point out there's a third kind of Pentastar emblem that seems much more rare. It's a gold metal, not plastic or foil-covered. I have one of these, it'll be going on my '70 Charger. I discuss it more in this topic: Pentastar Silver or Gold? It's also mentioned in Coronet 14's post in...

    Grendel lives...resurrection of a 1970 Charger 500

Took are of a small but essential detail today. I had to figure out a way to reinstall my Charger emblem onto my custom grille. The original grille had a thick plastic mounting plate with holes to fit the emblem, but my aluminum hex mesh grille lacks any way to mount the emblem. I decided I...

    Grendel lives...resurrection of a 1970 Charger 500

I installed new park light lenses on my original housings that I previously restored, cleaning them up and painting them with Rust Bullet, which has a nice silvery-grey finish. I need to point out that although the metal housings are marked "L" and "R", the lenses aren't, and it's all too easy...

'70 Charger park light housings: Why is everything such a pain?

Well, during that "step away from it and think" stage, I realized I made a major brain-fart. The housings are marked "L" and "R", and they were clearly installed on the correct sides of the valance. The repro lenses, however, are not marked "L" or "R". I mistakenly assumed they were the same...

'70 Charger park light housings: Why is everything such a pain?

Thanks, I'd be interested to see pics showing how well (or badly) your park light lenses are centered in the valance holes.

'70 Charger park light housings: Why is everything such a pain?

Yes, and ridiculously, the light marked "R" actually fit the oval hole better when I mounted it on the wrong (driver) side. The one marked "L", however, didn't fit worth a damn when I tried installing it on the passenger side. It would seem the valance is messed up but it looks perfect...

'70 Charger park light housings: Why is everything such a pain?

This guy is describing the exact same issue I'm seeing. However, his solution seems rather vague. Front Valance - Parking Lights Looking at the housing and mounting tab on the valance and retainer clip, the only logical way to install the housing is with the mounting tab and clip on the...

'70 Charger park light housings: Why is everything such a pain?

Those single-screw tabs are literally the only thing that is moveable. I've tried bending them up/down within reason but in order for the retainer clip holes to line up with the housing holes, they would need to move left/right quite a bit, and that's not really possible. Those tabs will bend...

'70 Charger park light housings: Why is everything such a pain?

My original valance. It was removed, prepped and painted. Some pics of it from last summer, but I'll get some pics of how the park lights look with just the 2 screws on bottom of each housing holding them into supposedly the correct position. I have another spare valance that's beat up but the...

How Do You Protect From This?

Exactly...the trick isn't to focus on the tool, but on the steering wheel. :) I thought it was common knowledge by now that those were a false sense of security.

'70 Charger park light housings: Why is everything such a pain?

I tried to install my restored park light housings with new repro lenses to my front valance. You'd think this should be idiot-simple, 3 bloody screws per side, but do you think I could get them all lined up with the mounting tab on top and bolted in?! Nope! The valance is off the car and...

Welcome! Your story sounds very familiar, but you started 4 years before me (1986 for me) and were a year younger (18 for me) when I bought my first "high school car", my '70 Charger. Very cool that we both kept them, even after decades of parking them, after all these years.

Saw this unusual Challenger in a magazine.

At least they chose the best taillights & finish panel of all the second-gen Chargers for that Cudarger!

You guys think that's bad...I used to have a coworker who would bring a tin of sardines for lunch and start snacking on them...plucking them out one-by-one and slurping them down. The smell was gawdawful.

    Grendel lives...resurrection of a 1970 Charger 500

This post will serve as a comparison of Canadian1968's custom hood signal lenses for the '70 Charger and some repro units I bought several years ago. I wish I could remember the maker of the repros but I believe they're the ones commonly available on eBay. The difference in quality is...
