Maybe have a little paint mixed of each color and do a small spray out and see which is closer. I agree, there are some pictures of PP1 online that look dark, especially inside and some out in the sun that are bright...it seems to be a tricky color
You can run a no clutch 7 blade 18" steel fan.
Add what spacer you need to get to your correct clearance.
There are mopar aluminum spacers from 1" to 3"
Those fans move alot of air, it's what I use.
Do you give up a couple horses loosing the clutch ? Yes , but compared to the alternator loading...
As it was a truck hemi, its using the 3” four bolt manifolds with 3” pipe to 16” oval mufflers and a crossover H pipe at Tranny tailstock, and 3” out, dual tailpipe in stock dual location, custom fabricated.

I'd rather not, but the big block reproduction fan with clutch assembly didn't fit, so I'm on here trying to see what does fit. If you can point me to some fitting parts, that would be appreciated. This is me trying to figure it out. Shorter clutches appear to be something I have to try...
Thank you……now I am very confused……. That looks like what I have. The PPG color chart for 1968 is DARK……that car is not dark. I have seen a 68 in PP1 red at Carlisle (only real 68 Bee there (2022 and 2023)……and he swears it is PP1 red and it’s dark (very beautiful car)!! Dark like the color...

I’ve spun them too. Now I know better. I adjusted my hydraulic lifters for 0.002 - 0.003” preload. When the only pressure is from the lifter spring on a collapsed lifter the rotational drag on an oiled, broke-in valve train can be undetectable at zero+ preload.

You need to find a PP1 car in person and see what the shade looks like. It’s hard to go just by an old color chip. Here’s a 68’ Coronet that is PP1. It looks pretty bright, assuming that it is indeed PP1. Being a restored HEMI car I would think that it was restored to the fender tag.
