Help! Strange ignition problem continues 1971 440 4 speed

We can all go on and on, it's this or it's that, do this or do that. Pointless. You troubleshoot the symptom. We know it's not mechanical, so it's either electrical or fuel. Eliminate one. See post #2. Then, go from there, and not waste speculation and time on the other.

Rule out one or the other: When you get to that "no-start" point, see if you have spark at the plug & also see if you have fuel squirting in the carb.

Wow, I gotta get me some of THIS gas-o-line!

Ken Boyer was a fantastic ballplayer, not only fielder but an offensive threat. Yep, he went to the Metsies after the Cards, I don't think he was on their 67 Championship team.

Wow, I gotta get me some of THIS gas-o-line!

Yep, couldn't agree more. Ken was brother of Clete Boyer who played magnificent 3rd base for the Yankees back then. ( Clete always batted 8th in the lineup before the pitcher's spot... when pitchers actually batted. )

Wow, I gotta get me some of THIS gas-o-line!

My dad was friends with Stan Musial and Red Schoendiest. Cards, even though they ended the Yanks run in '64, I rooted for them afterwards when they had Roger Maris. And, I enjoyed the 67 World Series when the Cards beat the Red Sux. Bob Gibson was the best RH pitcher I'd ever seen.

Wow, I gotta get me some of THIS gas-o-line!

We would have those little transistor radios under our desk in school with the ear plug cord inside our shirt sleeve, and our hand holding up our head by the elbow on the desk. The ear plug inside our hand listening to the radio, which was the October World Series that was on during the...

    Dream give away

I knew someone a few years ago who won a pair of Camaros in that Dream Car raffle, along with $$ for taxes. I'd personally seen both cars, a classic BB 69 if I recall, plus a new LS-whatever model. Both were black, and they were really nice cars.
