    Vacuum or mechanical secondary

I had a 600 Holley double pumper on this 318 engine in this car. 1971 318 engine with a 340 cam and headers that's it. 4 speed with 3:23's out back. I had a vacuum secondary Holley 600 on it prior to changing to the double pumper. Night and day difference.

Need Help Decoding Transmission - 68 Charger

Thanks guys, l really appreciate your input! Based on your knowledge would a pump housing be cast in 65 but not installed until 3 years later? Also, what does the 261-2 mean?

Transmission disassembly mess containment- show us yours!

I use a Rubber Maid cart. There is a hole in the center to drain the mess into a pan underneath.

Run on and backfire through carb

You may want to try adding some static timing. Doing so will increase idle RPM and allow the carb idle speed screw to be backed off to achieve the same RPM. The smaller throttle opening limits air flow through the carb which reduces/eliminates run on. My 440 used to like to run on during hot...

    The Roach

When I start it up, it goes on fast idle & is moderately loud, but when it idles down, it's quieter than the repro exhaust I have on the big block cars. Other than moving it around the driveway, I haven't driven it, but I am curious how it will sound when driving. It still needs an alignment...

    WTB new 440 crankshaft

Hello again Moparfolks, Looks like 'NEW' stock 440 parts are few and far between nowadays? No one makes a steel 440 crank and very few bushed 6.760 x 1.094 rods as well. I did have a feeling this was the case so it strokers only from here on in. Best wishes from John UK

    The most beautiful muscle car?

If we're going back to the 50's, the 57-58 300's were hard to beat style wise, and equipped with dual quad 392 Hemi's. I like the '57 Dodge, but the '59 Super D-500 is better in most every way.

did car manufacturers break in flat tappet cams?

I broke in my first Mopar cam in in 1980. Then about 100 Chevy cam in there small block trucks. Kim

    The most beautiful muscle car?

The '68-69 Coronets definitely had the best quarter panels, you maybe could make arguments elsewhere, but 68-69 were the coolest styled quarter panels of the musclecar era with the 2 indentions, 3 body lines and widebody look!

    The most beautiful muscle car?

There is no denying that the 68-70 Charger is the pinnacle of the Mopar World. The 70/71 Cuda and the 70 Road Runner a close second. I’m kinda partial to my 68 Dart 270 that I just got back after 30 years. Kim

    Windshield installation 1966-70 B body

Interesting to read, I've got a "Precision" gasket and a windshield from a local supplier sitting in my shop right now waiting for my '70 Roadrunner. It might be ready to go in by the end Summer. I've safely removed (original) front and rear windshields from a 1957 Plymouth by myself without...
