I had to fix that same exactly spot on my '62 :) Word of warning.. when you think you cut back far enough.. go another inch.. i ended up trying to weld to rust soo much to learn that lesson.. Not perfect but.. not that worried bout it...

Those clips fit randomly onto the pinch weld , start them about 8 inches behind the screw & 8 inches from the back , no specific spot just relatively spaced. Line up the front screw hole & tap the mldg onto the pinch weld. Hope this helps

Sunday I traveled with a couple of friends to a big gun shop about an hour away. Along the way, next to the interstate, I could see that they were getting warmed up for some drag racing at a local track. At that time the drivers and such were just getting to the track. It was a great day...
