Some part of this has to be the reduction in angles in the body lines down side of the car. And these days, all cars are blobs.....no one ever leans on the door or fender of a modern car lol.
im a bit surprised that you didnt take all the trim and tailights, bumpers etc etc off, since thats usually the first thing the shops lose.
or the hardware to remount.
also its a lot less time consuming for the body shop,if its already off,and you dont have to pay the extra labor time.
just a thought.
I have a quick fuel 850 DP mechanical secondary. Always ran rich but other than that real strong, no hesitation, no problems. I took it off to replace the valley pan and decided to adjust the transition slot. It was way open and I adjusted it to a little “square “. I also ran the idle screws out...

Best way Ive found to do the lettering
Is spray some black into a cup,
Pull it up with a hypodermic needle and then flow it out in the depressed letters
It takes a few times to get it a full dark black
No tapes lines or brush marks that way
Also, the aluminum Edelbrock DP6B for the B engines is more than 17 lbs lighter than the cast iron 2951666 used on my 1970 383 HP.
37.7 lbs cast iron (with 2 light coats of paint)
20.4 lbs cast aluminum (bare)
________
17.3 lbs
