On a new build I used a new Mopar electronic ignition system wiring harness and a Rev-N-Nator box , dist. , and coil. Can I bypass the ballast resistor or do I need it. Box is 5 pin by the way.

My 4 speed started grinding on down shifts only when it’s warmed up ? Shifts like butter when cold will grind from 3Rd to 2nd and 2nd to 1 when hot. Running Red Line MT 90 trans only has about 3K on it. Clutch - PP TO bearing all new. Everything is new.

So what would cause an alternator gauge to read 20+ all the time ?
Is this a bad thing ?
I don’t want to bypass it for an amp gauge. Virtually everything is new on this fresh build.
