Was the steering coupler and visible shaft painted from the factory, natural metal, or plated with anything? Trying to figure out what’s correct for my 68 runner. Thanks in advance.
So I bought a compressor from this guy and through further talks as I was extremely happy with the service and promptness I found out this fella restores lines and hoses as well. His name is Bill Peake and I even sourced some original compressor brackets from him. I know a lot of folks have...
Well I vehemently disagree! The reason being is I caught one I have been chasing for over a year now. These were probably the hardest parts I have tried to chase down in my life. 1968 only, B body only, big block only. Not alot of those sitting around the wrecking yards anymore and if they are...
This is the last hose I need to have everything to complete my factory AC system on my 68 roadrunner four speed post car. I have sourced everything else. If anyone can help me find it I would appreciate it. The diagram below shows it underlined in red.
On the early big block cars with the cast iron bracket for the compressor does the negative battery cable and the throttle return around bracket still sand which under the same intake bolt as without AC? It’s gonna have to loop out towards the apron and around this bracket if so. Just curious...
So I have sourced almost all of the lines for my 68 roadrunner. The compressor is new and the discharge manifold has already been cleaned, pressure tested, and painted. The heater box has already been rebuilt. I still like the discharge hose coming off the discharge manifold having them all but...
So I am closing in on the finish line on my assembly of the suspension, engine, and transmission. I am considering rigging a radiator in front and putting a short exhaust on it and doing the break in with it on the dolly. Anybody ever done that before?
Cast iron compressor mounting bracket for an RB engine This is for a 68 and earlier compressor where the compressor sits at an angle. Still has original turquoise paint visible. $45 plus shipping.
I have been dicking with this thing for almost a week. It’s the numbers matching original engine and transmission to the car. The original bell housing too. I know that because one of the dowels had pulled out of the block and was still in the bell housing. The engine came in pieces though but...
What color was the bottom cast iron AC compressor bracket from the factory? I have seen people say they were black and that may be true, but these used two of the insular manifold bolts to bolt them down. One of those bolts also had the throttle return spring bracket and the negative battery...
Ok, so my 68 RE was an early car with the Inland shifter. I got the hurst conversion shifter as I hate that gear crossing piece of crap Inland. But I want the car to look 100% correct. I have a mint Inkand B body non-console handle, but I swear it looks bent to my eye. It may look perfect once...
I need the suction hose and tube and discharge hose and tube for a 68 big block B body. I could use the manifold for the compressor as well. PM me if you can help.
Not sure whether this needs to go in the engine section or electrical. A mod can feel free to move it if need be…….So trying to figure out the alternator brackets and idler assembly mounting proved to be a little bit of a challenge. None of it was on the engine so I had no idea how it went. I...
1968 Plymouth roadrunner 383 four speed with AC. I found a throttle return spring bracket in a bucket of parts inside the car that has remnants of turquoise on it. The engine was out of it and the intake was off and it was jade the car as well. That’s the one on the right in the picture. On the...
So I have a 68 roadrunner I am restoring. Factory four speed with AC car. I have none of the under hood AC stuff for it so I am on. The hunt. I found a 66 Charger 383 AC car that’s fairly rough for a decent price. Has all the AC components still under the hood. Are the AC lines, etc. the same as...
I have seen chrome and black breathers on 1968 roadrunners with the 383. Which one is correct from the factory? I have both. Just want it to be correct. Thanks in advance.
Was that cast iron bracket the goes across the top of the intake painted with the engine or did it go black? Since it’s held on with two of the intake bolts I was curious. Still trying to hunt that particular bracket up by the way. Thought I had one but it’s for a 440. Too wide.
I am restoring a 68 roadrunner four speed car that came with air conditioning. What color were all the brackets that mount the compressor to the engine? Satin black? Was the big cast iron mount on the engine when it was painted or is it black as well? Also were all the alternator mounts...
