I’m having issues with my 440 with a clutch fan touching my radiator. First her are a few facts. I’m already using a Hayden 2947 clutch fan which is the shortest clutch fans available. I can’t get the factory 3 core radiator in without the clutch fan scraping the radiator. Both the tank and the...
I’m in need of a radiator side bracket for a 1964/65 big block B-body. It’s also possible that one from a 1963 might also work. Does anyone have something to get me out of a jam? I need one that has the rectangular hole that accepts the fan shroud bracket. The side bracket that I currently have...
I have a Carter 4640SA AVS for a 69 440 with a date code of D1. I was under the impression that the number after the letter was for the year of manufacture. If that’s the case why would Carter be making a carburetor for a 1969 Chrysler vehicle in 1971?
It used to be that when I opened a post that I previously looked at it would take me directly to the newest post. Now when I open one it takes me to the original post and not the newest reply. Why would this be happening?
I have two clutch issues. Once you accelerate over 2500+ rpm the pedal loses it free play and gets harder to push down when shifting then at about 4000-5000 rpm when the motor starts making some horsepower the clutch starts slipping. The strange thing is that the old clutch also slipped like...
I’m looking for a 2463019 bell housing for a 1964 B-body.
I would also consider a 1965 2468370 bell housing. Has anyone got one that they would be willing to sell?
Thanks,
I need to remove the transmission alignment pins from the rear of my 440 block. I tried to grab them with vise grip s and twist them but they slip. Mi second thought was to drill them out starting with a smaller hole and working my way up but I don’t know when to stop because I don’t know how...
This is a comparison between the clutch fan that was available in the fan and clutch package from Mopar Performance p/n 4120759 with 405704 and I05C1A printed on the face. This clutch fan is 3-1/8” to 3-3/16” long and is clock spring style clutch.
The next one from Advanced Auto (CarQuest)...
I’ve need to replace an axle bearing in my original 1964 housing with the tapered axle. Does any know if the ‘64 housing with the keyed tapered axle uses the same bearing as the ‘65 and up housing? Also if they are different who carries them?
Can you run a Edelbrock Performer RPM 440 in a 64 B-body without it hitting the stock hood?
I know that the Performer RPM is 1.7” taller than stock and I was able to run it in my car with a drop base but how much taller is the Dominator is over stock?
Thanks
