Anyone have a photo, from the top looking down, of an an original master cylinder cover (lid) on a 71 B-body they can share? Power brake unit. This one is a Charger RT. Thanks!
Looking for a picture of the clip/washer that secures the heater control temperature cable to the control unit. Non-A/C car. Probably the same on all the early 70s B bodies. It's just a push on type of attachment. There is a washer or clip that secures it to the unit. This is at the driver's...
Many of the 440 HP Chargers I have seen in 1971 have the radiator upper hose outlet on the passenger side of the radiator. A few have it on the left (driver's) side. Anyone know why they used 2 different ones? My right side upper outlet is a 959 radiator. Is the 960 radiator used for the left...
Anyone done this lately? Wondering if I have to remove the instrument cluster face plate (Rallye cluster) to get to the screws, or can it be removed from under the dash without doing that? Non-AC car.
Thanks.
Anyone remember what size this bulb is? It's smaller than the 1156/1157 and bigger than the 57. Trying to find one at the local auto parts store...thanks
1971 Charger with fender mounted turn signal indicators. At night only with the headlamps on, the indicators on both fenders stay lit all the time--the solid yellow light. If I turn the signal switch on, they blink just fine as designed. But they do not go off afterwards. The solid light at the...
I took my 1971 RT to a local body shop to install two new passenger door hinges (upper and lower) to help my slightly sagging door. They suggested I also replace the striker and I said fine. They picked up a pack of 2 strikers at a local auto parts store. They fixed the passenger door just fine...
Did the 1971-1972 Roadrunner/Charger air grabber cars come with the 440 Magnum or 440 Super Commando pie tin plates?
Or was it just an orange air cleaner lid with a small air filter decal?
Thanks!
There is a D-shaped black plastic clip that goes just above the junction box on the firewall in the engine compartment of most 1971 B bodies, including the Charger RT. It holds some of the engine wiring harness. It plugs into a hole in the firewall. It looks a lot like the O-shaped clips that go...
Were the factory hood pin plates attached to the hood with four machine-type screws or four sheet metal-type screws?
If you have a picture of yours from the underside of the hood and it is original equipment, please send and thanks!
Does anyone know the correct sheen for the door sill plates? I've seen some originals that look flat or satin but many of the aftermarkets are polished aluminum--almost like chrome. Which version was original? Thanks!
I have a Scat Pack Bee decal in the original, part number3505101, left side quarter glass. It's new, but 40+ years old. The Bee is affixed to the backing paper and won't separate. Also, the Bee does not have too much stick left. You can place it against the window but not much stick. And it does...
Does anyone know the precise difference between the automatic transmission (4966S) and the manual transmission (4967S) Carter AVS carburetors for the 440 in 1971? Can a 4966 be modified to a 4967?
Thanks for your insight.
Anybody remember a 71 RT in GY3 440 4 speed running around the Pacific Northwest in the 78s-80s? Drop me a line if you do--trying to find the original or subsequent owners to around 1995. Rare paint for this particular car.
Thank you.
The MMC Detroit volumes suggest that the 1971 B bodies had vacuum line from the booster to the manifold that had yellow lettering re KV 11/32 on it.
Anyone have a source for this line?
Thanks!
Anyone know which mode of attachment was factory for the 1971 GTX and Charger air grabber systems? This is for the flapper end caps (either 4 screws or four bolts). I have seen it both ways on restored cars. Which was original?
Thanks!
