    Front disc brake conversion kits

Yeah the pin type dried up a long time ago. The factory switched to sliders and then so did the replacement mfgs.

Good bye highway gears. Hello 3.55

Yeah I did the same thing. I had an original B body Dana 60 under my '65 Coronet for 30 years. A guy I knew back in the '80's wrapped his 1969 GTX around a telephone pole. I bought the Dana 60 and the front disc brakes from him when he parted the car out. Think I paid $200 for both. 30 years...

'68 Coronet project EFI/4 speed conversion up and running!

Yeah, I understand what you are saying. The guy who bought my Duster didn't know much about EFI either. Which I thought was weird since the Duster project was a six part series in Car Craft. After being in Car Craft for six issues I assumed that anyone buying the car would know all about it but...

    Front disc brake conversion kits

The discotech article was great info 30 years ago when it first came out but these days it isn't super helpful since the wrecking yards have been picked over for year. Back in the 1990 to 2005 era I would load up my tool box on Saturday and go to the wrecking yard to pull disc brakes. I used to...

Trick Flow 240 vs Stealth heads

Cool deal. Are you enjoying the engine more? Was the swap worth it?

Trick Flow 240 vs Stealth heads

Did you ever swap over to the TF240 heads? From what I've seen on the dyno the TF heads would be worth 50 to 100 hp depending on the rest of the engine. I've seen a couple 700 hp pump gas 470 engines with OOTB Trick Flow 240 heads. Never seen Stealth or Edelbrock heads anywhere near that number.

'68 Coronet project EFI/4 speed conversion up and running!

Cool deal. I'm glad you got the experience of working thru all the issues and then being happy with the car and then letting it go to the next guy. I've been working on my '65 Coronet for a long time now and I'm getting to the point where I'll probably sell it. I have a Sniper system on my car...

My A12 RR progress with Holley termi x

Super clean install. I did port injection on my low deck with a Holley Dominator system and then I added the individual coils and got rid of the distributor. Worked great. I'll be interested in how the 6 pack EFI system works for you. I met the guy who makes those a few years back at an EFI...

    69’ B-body Baer brakes w/ 72’ vs. 73’ spindles

I'd use the FMJ knuckles if you can find them. They are a hair taller but they are lighter. If you can't find them no big deal, the factory late model A/E knuckles will work fine. I've used a few Baer kits over the years and they are super high quality.

    3.23 gears for Dana 60

When Doctor Diff first came out with the 3.23 gears for the Dana 60 I signed up to be the test case. That was a few years back and so far all good. He had Strange put together a new S60 for my '65 Coronet and he hung his rear disc brake kit on it. I went with the 3.23 gears since I'm using a...

Good bye highway gears. Hello 3.55

3.55 is a good street gear. I switched the Dana 60 in my Coronet over to 3.23 gears since I have a Doug Nash five speed with a low first gear. With a normal trans I'd run a 3.55 on the street.

Best oil for a roller cam engine

Doesn't really matter. Use whatever is on sale at Walmart. Change it a couple of times a year and you'll be fine.

Radiator overflow ???? what are you running?

There are tons and tons of clear plastic expansion tanks available these days. I just grabbed one from a new car that fit pretty well and built a little bracket for it.

Doctor Diff Viper-Style 13" Front Disc Brake Kit

I switched to Porsche "Big Reds" for my Coronet build. The Big Reds used to be very easy to find since they were a super popular swap for many years onto a lot of different cars. The Porsche calipers are very similar to the Viper calipers. Both are made by Brembo and the specs are fairly close.

Doctor Diff Viper-Style 13" Front Disc Brake Kit

I used to buy them from the local dealer but I haven't done that in a while. They might not be available anymore over the counter.

440 Source vs Hughes stroker kit

My big block book needs an update but the publisher wasn't super interested last time I talked to them. The book came out before Trick Flow introduced their heads so that is the biggest thing that needs to be updated. I've also done a lot of testing with ported intake manifolds since the book...

440 Source vs Hughes stroker kit

We typically use Molnar cranks and rods (Chevy 7.100 long rods) and then match them with a dished piston that provides the correct compression ratio. You'll need to use the TF240 heads since the 270 heads will not work with your six pack intake. Keep the cam small or else you'll have lots of...

440 engine rear down. Anything worth keeping?

Caps are overkill, especially with a six pack intake. The six pack intake looks super cool but it doesn't make as much power as a good single plane intake would. You'll want to keep the cam fairly small to work with the six pack carbs. If you don't keep the cam small then you have to recalibrate...

440 engine rear down. Anything worth keeping?

I wouldn't put billet caps on it if your existing caps are in good shape. Take a close look at the main bearings, if they look good then you don't need to change caps. Have the shop put ARP main studs in it and then hone the main bore and you should be good to go. We build a lot of 505 strokers...

440 engine rear down. Anything worth keeping?

You should keep all of the exterior stuff since you'll either need it or someone else will. Distributor hold down, tin, PS pump and bracket, etc. You'll obviously need the main caps and the main seal holder and stuff like that. Keep the oil pickup with the oil pan if you aren't going to reuse...
