Ok, after much thought and experimenting, I finally got it right! During my internet search, I found a couple of other people that had the same question as me, without any answers. So...I am posting a picture in hopes that it will help someone else out too!

I am sorry, maybe I didn't explain this spring well enough. This is a floor shift locking column. The spring goes from the top of the column, to the collar that you push down to get the key out. I have tried several ways and it seems to bind up. Any help would greatly be appreciated!

Ok, this one got me. I am sure you have heard a million times, "I took my column apart to restore, and I have this little spring....". Yep, it got me too! Can some show me the exact routing of it, please?
