    Rejuvenating old batteries

I boiled my lawnmower battery in the spring of '23, just to see if it works. I got on it Sunday to chop up some leaves and had to boost it off. So, 2 1/2 summers, not to bad. I boiled it with my big battery charger set to starting amps, 200amps I think. I'll be buying a new one in the spring.

    Bad A/C compressor clutch

The alternator isn't in line with anything but the compressor and crank pulley. So, I just can't measure for a belt. I'll take the clutch off and investigate, I know there is a bearing in there somewhere.

I'm not worried about having ac just yet. I'm trying to get a quick and easy fix for charging/alternator. I can't drive it far.

    Bad A/C compressor clutch

So, I just bought a 71 Charger S/E. It's a factory 383 2BBL car. The A/C compressor clutch had locked up on it and burned up the belts which were also connected to the alternator. What will be the quickest/easiest way to eliminate the A/C compressor temporarily? I have a 78 440 from a truck that...

    Problem powder coating wheels...any suggestions?

Ah, you could be correct. Thank you @CudaChick1968. I have resorted to painting the strings black so they're are not noticeable. I see you're from Tennessee, so am I, I am just misplaced at the moment, Go Vols.

I might could try to turn it upside down before I stick it in the oven. That might work.

    Problem powder coating wheels...any suggestions?

Yeah, believe me I know the factory dipped the wheels. That stuff is very hard to get off! I wouldn't have the same problem if I were to paint them, but I wanted them powder coated. I enjoy the method of it and have gotten really good at it, except for this one problem.

    Problem powder coating wheels...any suggestions?

I am powder coating a set of original cop wheels. The problem I'm having is where the wheel center is mounted to the wheel hoop, that little gap in between. The first one I did had little spaghetti strings in between the two. So, I figured that on the next one I would use a little extra powder...

    Any speedometer gurus?

I will look for the oil hole, but don't remember seeing anything. I have put some oil on the back where the cable goes into the housing and on the housing under the disk and let it soak for days.

    Any speedometer gurus?

The speedometer works fine, except at speeds below 20mph, it clicks. The vehicle has sat for almost 20yrs, recently up and running fine. When I took out the gauge cluster, the plastic piece on the cable was like welded to the back of the speedometer. I finally get it off, put in on the bench and...

    Questions about a truck

I have a 79 with an 8-1/4 rear. I'm getting ready to put a warm 440 in and will be upgrading the rear for strength and a sure grip. The truck is for sale for $600 and yard drives, it's a little ratty which I don't mind. Swap rears and have a ratty truck too!

    Questions about a truck

It's a D-100. I do not have access to the truck, it's for sale on FB marketplace. I first saw it while on my computer at home, when I looked at it again on my phone and magnified the picture it plainly says 8-3/8. I can not get the guy to message me back. I just thought for the price of the...

    Questions about a truck

I'm looking at a 1975, actually 09/75 build so I believe that makes it a 76 model. Anyway, the owner posted a picture of the option sticker under the hood. The rear end is listed as a code number AB2- R/A chry 8-3/8. I'm assuming that would be what we commonly call an 8-1/4, not an 8-3/4? Would...

Build your A990 super stock tribute from this! Complete original paint car with what I believe is low mileage. The car is in better shape than most and never messed with. The only big negative is the floor is gone, it had rusted from the inside out. Underneath is very clean. The trunk floor is...
